Fall is in the air!
Never come this early in the 20+ years I've lived here!
Usually in late Nov or early Dec!

I love Fall.
If only oak leaves had a monetary value, or the main wind direction a bit different...

Me too. And fallen leaves here have all the monetary value - it's the best compost on Earth. We have those "vacuum" bags on the back of the riding mower (which sucks up the grass clippings) and it picks up the leaves as second duty. Then it all gets dumped into the garden or the compost pile or around the fruit trees and berry bushes.

Uh, not so much out here in Commiefornia... hit a high of 99 today. Overnight lows have been nice though, down into the high 50's...

I like the chill in the air but we all need some rain from the sky.
That said, I'm wearing a wool hat when walking the dog in the mornings (and trying to avoid the neighborhood bear) and shorts by 11:00.

That bear seems friendly enough... why avoid him?

It was 51 and light drizzle for our walk this morning but I stuck to shorts. I was walking the neighborhood bear, so everyone else avoided me.

We have to feel for the folks exposed to fire, water and other calamities.
Huge wind gusts this morning. Warm air though.
A number of storms have been passing south of North-eastern seaboard lately, and we get the fringe winds. The other day, a buoy reported 40-ft waves in the waters south of Nantucket. Ferocious.

After the week and a half of smoke cover cleared up, it's been getting up to 100° in the San Fernando Valley, but that's not unusual here. Typically the weather doesn't start getting cooler until November.
