The fate of my guitars and gear

I'm about to begin the big downsizing, will have 10 or so guitars for sale initially, my Chandlers and Peaveys among them.
If I'm alive and know the end is near, then I'll likely give it away to friends and family and donate the rest. My son has no interest in guitars, but seems to have hoarder tendencies, so I'll relieve him of that burden. Otherwise, I guess it doesn't really matter what happens to it after I'm gone. I would like for someone to be able to use and enjoy it rather than just being piled-up.
I remember lots of folks from these forums that are no longer with us and have gear that once belonged to them. I still miss my friends Bob (Fullonshread), and Alan (KDawg).

Not sure about Pitts, but I'm positive it isn't MattS. He's been absent for a while now, and yes, he lives in California, but IIRC he lives in a normal house, not mobile, with his family. Nice guy, and I miss him here.andrewsrea wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 10:35 amI remember the thread and believe you are correct that he lived in central California. I am thinking it could have been David Earl Pitts ('dearlpitts') or MattS, but I am spit-balling here.uwmcscott wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 2:13 pm
I remember this. The guy was brilliant and used to post full on amp-porn photos of his handwired/homebuilt amps and the circuits & wiring were amazing. He was kind of a cranky SOB but had amazing skills. I don't think he sold any of them, at least not on the forum. And then unforunately he snapped and killed himself/torched his mobile home with him and all the amps inside it. @andrewsrea might remember his name. There were some news articles about it, I think he lived in California.

That's what I mean. It'll be sad that things that can still be used end up like that - and this applies not only to guitars -.
I'm with you about missing those guys. I was more friends with Bob. RIP.
