I always enjoyed his take on things. I never knew I was a rich man's bastard until hbowner came along. It made me beam with pride. I hope he comes back.

I too am a middle aged, crusty, bitter, acerbic, passionate, opinionated guitar player, and I could only hope to one day have a gift for language such that people are talking about me wistfully years after I leave a place.
Same for me!
I'm all of those things too! Except for maybe the guitar player part.

SalteeDog, when and where did you see the picture of hbowner's houseplants? Just trying to figure out when he was last sighted anywhere.

I've discovered there is someone on The Harley Benton Club member list named hbowner. They joined June 19th, 2015 at 4:02 PM, hung around for 17 minutes, made no posts, and haven't been seen since.

Well, if he does come back, the thread discussing his possible developmental exceptionalities should go over well.

@toomanycats Search for members named Vesa. I'll admit Facebook has a crappy interface for searching so its a bit of a chore. Any Vesa who posted or responded to a post re. lefty guitars is your man.

I think @mickey might have had some friction with hbowner at the very end when he requested to be banned.
No, I always felt y'all were taking advantage of a mentally retarded guy & it never seemed right to me.
Just my 2 cents.
In all seriousness, I don't believe he is mentally impaired. I think he's a middle aged, crusty, bitter, acerbic, passionate, opinionated guitar player whose language barrier and/or genuine gift for turning memorable phrases made him one of the most celebrated members of the old forum, and this even though he was there for a relatively short time.

Maybe others were laughing at him, but not me . . . and I'll tell you why: I too am a middle aged, crusty, bitter, acerbic, passionate, opinionated guitar player, and I could only hope to one day have a gift for language such that people are talking about me wistfully years after I leave a place.
I always wondered if his gift for language was just google translate

Dude, oh my god. Maybe I'm just in a weird place today, but this post had me absolutely helplessly laughing. I'm still tearing up a little.
