OMG. I worked my ass off for 21 years in advertising in NYC. It was not a daily grind. It was a day and night grind. All week. And then the weekends. Ungodly amounts of hours. And no overtime. Nada.

I once worked 5 weeks and weekends in a row. Over 35 days straight. And long hours.

I EARNED my current free time.

My last assignment was in the Florida Keys. I went down to take someone's place that left the company. It was an easy job, all expenses paid and in paradise. They closed the Keys just as I got down there so all the tourists were kept out, only residents and essential workers. It was something to watch the Keys turn into a small town once the tourists were gone. Everyone got very small town friendly. suddenly everyone was a local. Seriously it changed drastically. I have spent a lot of time down there working over the years and it was a stark difference. I only came home every other weekend. On the weekend I remained I worked some but also just enjoyed having the entire place to myself. I know the owner of the resort. I used to work for his grandfather before he retired from our company and his son works for our company now. They hooked my up as they say. I had the nice salt water pool all to myself. I rode my bicycle every evening and I say under the coconut trees playing guitar and writing a John Prince tribute song. Not a bad swan song assignment. I saved up so extra cash too!

Congratulations [mention]tonebender[/mention]! I hope you have lots of time to enjoy a richly, fulfilling life with Mrs. Tonebender. In addition to motor-sickles and guitars, didn't you guys have a few competition horses, as well? I might have that wrong - my memory is a bit hazy.

[mention]JeffBeck[/mention] Long story short, we sold the farm and the last horse to a young man in Wellington Florida that intends on competing. We purchased a nice home on 1 acre. We sold the 4x4 RAM 2500 Diesel pickup and the gooseneck horse trailer is on the market. Life now is just the motorcycles and music. All part of the well executed plan.

Sounds nice. Congrats. My pension is getting around 75% of my pay and my company is making noise they may offer 25k if we retire Aug and 15k if we retire dec. That would cover healthcare for a year or more. Anyone know what considerations I should look at? Maybe tell them I need better to get rid of this dead weight
