Got back into B&W photo hobby, last few months.

Found myself with a number of cameras in various conditions, all of a sudden, between estate sales, friends, the bay, and CL.
135, 120, 6x9, 4x5, pinhole

Caffenol development!

Me too. I turned down the last role because my part was too small. :)

I'm working at not being the absolute worst house-husband on the planet, and it's hard for me.

How many stay at home dads are there. Man what pathetic losers. Lol. I kid, I kid. Ya I’m a Stay at home dad going on 6 years now. . It’s not easy doing all the work in the home and then still having to do all the work ON the home.

My son is 6 and if you’ve done this or are doing this, you are doing one of the most important jobs there are. Congrats!

My hobbies were numerous before becoming a parent. I enjoyed pottery, drawing and computer arts of all types. Mountain Biking and playing video games. Now I barely have time to make music but the upside is I’m helping my son learn the drums and he’s got great rhythm already.

I also do a little woodworking, and I like to play with this:

I added the side skirts and the front splitter, swapped the solid top for the clear glass, swapped wheels, and just recently put on an aftermarket x-pipe.

I used to play with this (1996 Corvette LT4) before I stumbled onto AGF. I don't think I've had it out in a couple years and until recently, it was buried under guitar shipping boxes. I've been procrastinating about the new battery it needs and mounting the fresh set of rims I have for it as the ones on now have been destroyed by until recently, years of sitting next to a truck filled with chlorine and muriatic acid:

Please do something with it! LOL I had a 370Z up until last year, and I babied it, never drove it hardly - put about 7000 miles over the 3 years I owned it, but I swore I would drive the vette. It's already fairly high mileage when I bought it, so keeping the mileage low isn't concern. I've had it since March 1, but due to COVID, I still haven't put but about 1000 miles on it so far... that will change now that the sun is out more.

Sport Shovelling, mostly. Good shovelling technique needs to be kept well honed. Use it or lose it.
There's pit and trench categories I'm most interested in. I've learned from the best. Took a class with Doug Trencherson.
Now I can dig a straight line trench, or go straight down.

Here's Doug's brother, Phil, demonstrating a blend of trench and pit techniques.

Been a stay at home dad for a while, but now that the kiddos are older and well established in pubilc school, I've been looking into what I can get into. I worked a lot of retail previously, which of course means I'm not much good to anyone these days - vocationally speaking. In the meantime:

I have a Reverb shop selling handmade guitar bodies for partscasters, most of them custom painted. I'm almost out of inventory, but haven't felt the pull to make more. Been busy with other projects and household fixes. There's a stack of bodies sitting on my workbench about 12 high, just need finishing/paint. All the while, I continue to deny and refuse commissioned requests.

I've also reconnected with the ol' video game habit, still playing current stuff - but going mostly for retro. I built a Pi based control panel in the past, and I just started building my own Vewlix style cabinet (which I'm sure I'll sell soon after to fund the building of another). After that, I'll build a dedicated rig for racing/driving sim stuff (prob sell that one, too). Just something to do to satisfy the 9 year old I was.

Now and then, I'll fire up the DAW and make noise. I'm not really trying to advance my guitar playing much these days, but I am pretty handy with the bass and vocals. I'm also trying to catch a band to play in, at least before the pandemic hit. I really miss it (the playing, not pandemics).

Oh, also(!) watching the world burn and being seriously angry about things I can't control are starting to occupy some time as well. I've heard they are becoming quite popular as pastimes go, but I've never been one to follow trends.

Also, a new hobby I've recently started has been trying to retain what's left of my sanity. Bolstering that has been trying hard to figure out why I have to try so hard. Been working really hard on trying not to hate people so much, but it's very difficult when so many of them suck. I used to be such an extrovert, but now I'm leaning hard into hardcore introvertliness. Midlife crisis, my version - I suppose.

Until then, I figure I'll lurk a forum board for a few days at a time, saying nothing, until I feel the urge to overshare once again.

Edit: I found a new hobby! It's called "proofreading and editing oversharing posts for typos and clarity."

Used to lift weights to the extent my ortho doctor allowed and advised. I did well for my limitations, but never had any pics done. I was always waiting until I looked better. Rarely exercise anymore.

I do have every computer I ever owned except the first one, and it was traded in on the second one. I also have too many castoffs from friends and family. All of them run better than when new out of the box. I need to pull and wipe the hard drives and throw them away except for the few that are truly current. I am the Free Tech Support and Repair guy for my family and friends. They mostly have no clue how much money I have saved them. Though never Dr. diagnosed I recognize some OCD type tendencies. My whole family collects too much of whatever interests them.

Pre-covid my greatest joy was time spent with my great niece and great nephew who live nearby. That was mostly every week, and for 5-8 hours per visit. We have had tons of fun together. Since Covid nonsense began I have seen them in person once.

I still watch MMA on a regular basis. I started watching Martial Arts back in the 70's, and boxing before that. The board where a number of us AGF refugees met up was an MMA Board I assembled using Proboards framework. I was trying to save my favorite MMA group that had been decimated by 4 previous moves. We lost members with every move and with every extended board crash. By the time I started my board it was too late.

Well, I used to do a lot of caving (potholing on your side of the pond)
That is how I met my wife. Joined the caving club at Ga Tech & she was an officer.
Ever been to the Gaping Ghyll ???
Neversink.jpg
And I have long played with toys like.
Testosterone.jpg
2Stags1.jpg
Mine was the one in the rear. Had engine/tranny from a Corvette 5.7L V8 and a BMW rear end.
The one in the front had a 3litre Ford v6/Ford tranny/Stag rear.
Mine weighed less than a stock Stag and had a 50/50 weight distribution..Stock Stag was nose heavy.

Sold that one a couple of years ago to fund another toy.

Oh, I am also a "Ham" (Amateur Radio Operator).
And I've messed with computers so long that Dennis Ritchie was a buddy of mine.
I think I've always had too many hobbies, whaddya think? :)

I'm a software developer. Believe it or not, I like coding that I sometimes learn more about it outside of work. I also geek out about personal finance and investing.

Other than that, I spend time learning my wife's native languages (she's got 3 she's almost equally fluent with in addition to English). I'm not great with them, but I've learned enough to make her family laugh.

Photography is an on again off again hobby for me. I'd like to photograph guitars more if anyone in my area (STL) wants me to take some shots I'll volunteer.

I'm really interested in taking up aquaponics/hydroponics and learning how to shoot but know nothing about either. Hopefully, I'll learn about at least one this year.

I bought it (my third C4) in 2005 with 42K, Since then, I've put a little over 20K om it. I had a $20K budget for performance upgrades but that money is now in another form and hanging on my walls...
