TalkBass is Down
Thanks... I've actually seen the first video, but I'll watch the second one when I have more time. Ancient civilizations is a big interest of mine. Particularly the South American ruins of Tiwanaku and Puma Punku. The level of precision stonework and construction at those sites defies explanation, and they built these cities about 14,000 years ago (though some archeologists strongly assert it's more like 30,000 years old). I'm also very interested in the Sumerian, Babylonian and Akkadian civilizations, which is what I've been diving back into a bit recently.
I don't think we know jack shit about much beyond 6,000 years in the past, and a lot of that is probably wrong too. Our time-line is messed up as well (shit's a lot older than we think it is), and we have prejudicial view of ancient Homo Sapiens Sapiens (they were just as intelligent as we are, folks). As well as our perception of what technology is, and what it's supposed to look like. And academia isn't too interested in new discoveries that upend the established narratives, either... Too many tenured, published careers at stake.
Finally escaping the People's Republic of Kalifornia!
