I've not seen the sun in a couple of days thanks to the Saharan Dust.
The TV weather folks are saying it should be a couple more before the sun reappears.
Odd thing is, the past couple of days have been our hottest of the year thus far?!?

Just hit us here in TX last night. The extra heat is caused by the greenhouse effect, the dust being a form of pollution and is keeping the humidity around. It's gross outside for sure.

Yeah it's been affecting my asthma. Looking forward to it going away. Stupid Saharans.

It's the worst thing to come out of the desert since this:

Unfortunate but true. Especially if you like to breathe.

Here's a representation of the effects over the last three days in my area. Tolomato River, St Augustine, FL. (Non-visual effects: creating a serious greenhouse effect, making it hotter than usual for this time of year. Also playing havoc with my allergies and asthma.)

(Not my photos)

In Florida, the Sahara visits you!

one good thing from advecting dust, it kills convective activity in the tropics, so bright side, it weakens the hurricane season.

Yup. It's hitting here, too. Hotter than hell - but at least it's raining today - if you're gonna have clouds, might as well get some rain, too.

Me and my friends have been having trouble breathing since a couple days ago. We are in Florida, under that Saharan dust cloud.

Some time ago, I think I read that Saharan sand particles are actually found in FL and Brazil's topsoil.

In other news, 2020 continues to deliver!

Apparently it has even made its way to Texas. My next door neighbor is affected by it. I don't notice it myself, but she is elderly.

Old folks, C.O.P.D., asthma etc. all have problems with it.
It has passed thru here but they say we may get a second round.

We saw a bit of that here in the mountains. It was soon joined by the smoke and ash from two forest fires, followed by a few showers. I think most of what was in the air was deposited on our patio furniture, judging by the rag I used to wipe them down.
