I am trying to post some pics in some of the threads with the attachment tab, but it keeps saying that the files are too large. I am just using regular iPhone pics off of my phone. Am I doing something wrong?

Having the same issue trying to find an avatar...no ideas just more problems to throw on the pile!

I think this is the requirement for an avatar:
Maximum dimensions; width: 350 pixels, height: 350 pixels, file size: 49.00 KiB.

that's correct

and I believe the file size limit for image attachments is now 2MB

Ok, I just posted a picture and a set an avatar. On my iPhone, I just clicked on the “choose size” and had to select small for the avatar and medium for a picture in a thread.

The "Copy Image URL" works as well.

Just find the image that you want and right click on it. Copy the image's address. Then click the image button in the post here and paste the url (between the img tags.)

So I have figured out how to put pics in, but now a lot of times the pics get turned sideways? Seems like everything gets turned to landscape position.

That’s a common issue with bulletin board software that doesn’t read the meta data on pictures taken with phones.

I upload and store my pictures on the hosting site https://imgur.com/ it's free and easy to use I have over a thousand pics stored there. It has an auto resize function and I use the message board size when I upload and when I want to post I use the direct link copy function and it works great and allows me to instantly access my pics so I back them up on a flash drive just in case then delete them from my computer to save space it's very easy and as I said free.
