Yes, very sad. While I am not a parrot head I am a fan of what he has done in the music business. Hell of a guy who understood his fans and gave them what they wanted.

I had plenty of smiles and beverages with him in the background.

A pirate looks at the end...

One of my favourite memories of an ex girlfriend was when I met her folks. We had gone shopping, and I had nabbed a copy of Jimmy Buffet's greatest hits. Her stepmom and I put it on, and were singing along to "Why Don't We Get Drunk" while my girlfriend sat there mortified.

I'll also add in that "Magaritaville" might just be perfect.

RIP Jimmy.

It took me decades to appreciate Jimmy Buffett, til I finally realized if you put in the hard work, then you deserve to lay back and party like you're Jimmy Buffett. In those times, his music hit home.

Heart shut down went to the hospital for a bit and Buffet goes and dies and I just found out in this thread. Seems like ever other gig or so someone would request one of his tunes.
@tonebender I agree not a big fan of his music buy the masses loved him.

An interesting story about the guy.

I also love that he just finished a song with Paul McCartney called "My Gummy Just Kicked In."

I liked his music just fine, played several many times, I was/am not a parrot head though. I never saw him live even though he played in this area many many times over the years. A parrot head attends every show they can.

I never was a big fan. I think he was at his best when he wrote from the heart. Come Monday is probably my favorite JB tune. The more novelty stuff didn't do much for me. But I love the idea of his lifestyle, and he worked hard to be successful.
