Been in the hospital for a week, miss me???? :D

Few months ago the medics told me to get the salt out of my diet.

I was in the hospital because I was having seizures.

After about a week the medics figured out that I was having seizures because I didn't Have enough salt in my diet.

That's what get for listening to them!!!

Glad you´re back!

I´m guessing you´ll do it half way about salt now: not too little, not too much.

Anyway, hope you get better!

We are complicated machines. Sorry you had to go through that while the experts worked out the algorithm. It'd be nice to get that process honed in. I think I lost my wife to interrelated missed diagnoses. It's good that you got through it!

Wow, glad you are OK @mickey. My dad ended up in the hospital a few summers ago with what they thought was a stroke and some seizure activity. After lots an lots of testing and a few days in the hospital, turns out he had "water poisoning" from drinking too much water and getting his electrolytes/salts all out of whack. Amazing how something so simple can cause so many problems, I hope the stay in the hospital was not too bad and that you are feeling OK being back home.

I have a book about diseases, looks like a oversized paperback, but thick as a dictionary.

The immense variety of ailments of all sorts is scary, some symptoms can be a 1 or a 10 in severity.
After a few pages, I have to put it down and close it.

I have a lot of respect for general practitioners in general. A guy walks in, and you have to scan your knowledge to see if anything fits with a known category, and this can have serious consequences, no OBD-II code reader mode.
True some are bad at it, or lazy, or did not make efforts to stay current (how?), but some are great at it, and it is beautful thing. Same with nurses.

And Mickey is getting better!

YEah...salt as a BP trigger is vastly overplayed. Especially if you live in a hot climate. You can conpensate by eating more potassium rich foods (provided you don't have an issue with Meds that may cause a potassium overload).

Glad you're still with us Mickey.

Sure. It is:
"Professional Guide to Diseases"
Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins, publisher, 1319 pages.

I also have a nursing student anatomy book, recent edition, and also an old-school vintage version, with great graphics!
Who knew there was so many different parts, all ticking together (most times) in a human body!
