I hear some GC may be opening up. Lots of San Diego is opening up. My kid rents out his house for air bnb. They shut down all rentals 2 months ago but most people had cancelled before that anyway. It reopened a month ago wit h1 day between renters for about 2 weeks but then it was back to 3 hr turn around and its been hopping.
Personally I just used up my luck for the year. I got yosemite reservation in jan for upper pines on jun 13. As of yesterday still closed, no word. Even had a ranger call me on sat to tell me she didn't know anything. And the word was upper wasn't on the list to reopen. An hr after I check on mon with still no word my kid calls and they are open jun 11 and its upper pines that opened. I still hear upper is at 50% capacity so what that means or how to do it idk. We had 2 sites so even if they cancel 1 at least I can get my family up there.
Now its a mad scramble to get ready for a big camping trip I didnt think was happening.
Last year ran into another player from brazil and we jammed a few times. Itll be harder to pull that off this time.

So what you guys got going on or looking forward to.

Well. I got to where I can put weight on my leg, so now for the next 6 to 8 weeks it's learn to walk on my own again. oh and I should have a guitar in my hands this Friday first time since December. First time in the three months I've been here they could be bothered to do it.

nomadh Long story short. December , after trouble breathing for awhile I was in the hospital with pnemomia on top of my COPD Lung cancer was discovered partially cutting off airflow. Started Radiation and chemo January which sucked the life out me . Late Feburary got lightheaded and fell in the bathroom breaking my femur in 3 places between the knee and hip. Got a rod in my tihgh for $65,000 and been trying to get up and around since. And to top it off cancer treatment was put on hold when I got put in the rehab center nursing home. Oh well thats life.

Being a pretty rural population here in WI, I don't think we were ever close to the level of "lockdown" that many in more urban areas - even though we do have some bigger cities like Milwaukee that had ( and continues to have ) lots of cases and deaths.

The total city/metro area where I live is probably around 70,000 people but many businesses never closed around here. Of course Grocery stores and large department stores that sold food stayed open, but convenience stores, liquor stores, auto parts stores, construction businesses and lots of other things kept right on going the whole time. Our Supreme court struck down the "stay at home" order our Governor had issued back in the middle of May, and it's pretty much been a free-for-all since then. Many restaurants and bars have been open for several weeks and most retail places are open with varying levels of safety precautions ( some have none at all, others are pretty harcore ). State parks are back open and to be honest if you drove around you'd never know that there was anyting out of the ordinary going on.

Unfortunately I think people got lulled into a false sense of security because the numbers here were initially so low, and now people are starting to get sick. There was a graduation party not far from where I live last weekend that generated about a dozen cases and that's probably just the tip of the iceberg as the incubation period can be so long. Wisconsin also never recieved a lot of the ventilators or other safety equpment that they ordered way back in march, so our hospitals are woefully unprepared and have also laid off many regular workers due to the decreased volume of regular work. Cases are starting to show up in nursing homes too so I'ts probably only a matter of time until we are right back where some others started - it's pretty scary really

Wow. So sorry. I think you hinted at some of this but I didnt know all this. My prescription would be to play guitar. I know it speeds healing. Take care Jack.

Thanks for the kind words all and I'll start butchering guitar again Friday after I get it out of Isolation either Thursday or Friday. Playing an electric acoustically as in no room for an amp and a roommate who wouldn't appreciate it. We.re starting to slowly open up here but the beach areas are not for now. People on the islands don't want outsiders bringing in COVID. Given the upturn in cases I'd agree if I lived by the beach too. Other tan beach goers most people are a bit cautious about crowds.

Went out to dinner with the family tonight and it was great (Lupe Tortilla, if any of you are in or near TX). Have tickets to see Back to the Future at a local theater tomorrow. Nice to get back to normal, even better when you don't have to wait for a table.

Sorry, Jack. I knew about your cancer - and I have you in my prayers -, but now this bone breaking situation is new. Wish I have better words to say; I really hope you´re as good as you can be. Take care...

My brother mentioned that GC was open so he was going to look for an acoustic. There was a line of about 15 people. And we all know how you go there to try guitars that can take hours. So he ran down the road to sam ash and it was wide open. I dont have the GC hate like some but I do think I like sam ash just a bit more. Just passing it on.

That's mostly down on your end of Floriduh, hundreds of miles from here. :)
Seems like many folks around here have the attitude "We are rural enough we don't need to worry about it."
So they don't wear masks.
My attitude is "If I catch that, I'm dead!"
So I never go out in public without a mask!
