As a kid raised on 70s AM radio, with folk pop being a big thing at the time, I could not avoid being aware of Gordon Lightfoot. It was only in retrospect that I recognized my extreme privilege at being exposed to his elevating and introspective art at such an impressionable age. His lyrics were over my head, beckoning me to elevate my mind to contemplation of their deeper meaning.
