"This isn't your Father's . . . " (Insert subject here: Oldsmobile, music, razor, hair gel, etc.) If you've lived long enough then you've no doubt noticed that things tend to recur in a cyclical manner.
Thank God I was born at a time when my "Nu" was Lover Boy, Triumph, Sammy Hagar, Rainbow. .38 Special, and Ozzy Osbourne, instead of Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Staind, and Papa Roach.
Before 90s "Nü-Metal", there was K-Tel's 1982 Compilation album "N.U.R.R.O.C.K."

I dunno man. Every time I hear Loverboy's Working for the Weekend, I can't not see Chris Farley grinding as a Chippendale wannabe in my head. Just one of the many things we can't unsee.

Wanna have a classic rock guitar and amp eargasm? Listen to track 5 by Krokus "Love Stick Goes Boom" at 13:47. That's the sound of Marshalls micd up, recorded through analog gear onto 2" tape, and pressed on to vinyl. Granted, Krokus is blatantly copying the glorious sound of Powerage era AC/DC, but I don't even care.

Cool. Haven't heard long stick in 30 years. The rest is all way to pop 80s for me. I used to be a huge triumph fan but they are one of the few where I used to like them but can't get into them anymore. Literally going back to 6 years old I can't think of another band I dropped so hard.
I started with cs&n, bs&t abb Beatles and just added from there.
I think there is something in 80s production, (early digital?) that just makes me cringe the whole era

We had a collection of those in my moms big stereo cabinet, both 8 track & vinyl. I can still remember some of the track listing order.
