All my pictures seem too big for this board. Any tips on shrinking file sizes?

Can't help with shrinking them but the file size limit is 2meg, and .PDF files are allowed also.

Start an account at Imgur.com. It's free. Then upload your pic there. Once uploaded you can choose whether you want to make it public or private. Public just means people can comment on them, sometimes rudely. I just upload my pics and keep them private where I can choose which ones I might want to share on forums or emails.

Click on the photo you've uploaded and you'll notice a menu on the right side of the pic. On the bottom is "sizes". I usually select "huge thumbnail". Then just copy the link for boards ( second one up from the bottom) and even if your pics are huge like the ones that my camera takes. Up to 8 mb,
They are sized perfectly for forums.

Have extra steps means just less pics. If they have to keep the file size down is there a board adin that will accept a large file and compress it to what the board wants to save us a few steps?

Well I do it with microsoft paint. Right click the image pick edit and choose paint. When paint comes up click on resize on the toolbar click on pixels choose 300 to 325 pixel on the long side. think that does it and when you go to close paint and it asks to save hit yes It took me longer to type that than resize one.. @ nomad you could do a pic in the time it took to bitch but you do what you want you're a grown man.

Exactly. Except i use 50% and it knocks it down enough to be under the limit.

If you are running Windows 10 you can install the Microsoft PowerToys which includes an Image Resizer that gets added to the right click context menu.

Look for the "PowerToysSetup-0.18.2-x64.msi" link on the releases page (or whichever is the current most recent version)
https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/releases/

After installing, you just right click on the image and select "Resize Pictures" in the menu, as demonstrated in the product page: https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/ ... ageresizer

Very quick and easy.

There has to be a way to just upload them from our phones. I am on the Squier Talk forum a lot and that’s how it is done there. Just click one button, select your photo, and it uploads it. Now I know nothing about running websites or forums, so I don’t know if it is feasible, but I do know it is possible.

If you're talking about pictures of you prancing around in your thong now that you're retired, best you don't post them. If not, along with some other excellent suggestions here, there's a free version of Irfanview that will also easily resize all different types of file images:

I have plenty of work. I stop in here between emergencies when my back hurts too much from fixing my flooded house or my wife's emu emergencies or my kids rental house broken pipe. I dont need another job. I come here to relax and for fun.
Sure I can do it but when 2 steps becomes 7 it just doesn't happen. So far I've wanted to post 30 pics. I think I've posted 5 or 6. Tried a shortcut to save steps and half the people cant see it. It's like a bridge that's missing the middle 20 ft. All that work but 20 ft is just a big jump.
How much of a donation to fix this problem?
Btw this is outstanding what you pulled off here? Sorry about being bitchy. My back is killing me and I'm trying to get a new band together and it turns out alot more water got in there than I thought so no I'm tearing it all up and running fans because I'm sure if someone smells mildew they'll have a mold freakout and that's the end.

How big are the pics you're trying to upload? Length and Width in Pixels as well as FILESIZE. JPG files by their very nature are ALREADY COMPRESSED.

Adding pics is easy. Click on the button for the FULL Editor and just click on the "Attachments" tab. Piece of pie...slice of cake. :)

SamIV That´s right, just as Patrick said. Click on "Attachments", then click on "Add files", select your file(s) from your PC, and then, once loaded, click on the "Place inline" tab, and that´s it!

Hope you can upload your Boss GT-1 pic soon!

The Board has a file size limit of 2MB. You will need to resize them to upload to the Board.

Probably the cleanest method is to host them somwhere else. For example, if you have an Instagram account you just post them there and copy and paste the link here.
