I had a birthday back on April 22 and unknown to me my daughter rented a community center for the day this past Sunday. She fixed a ton of great food and had of course invited all our family and a bunch of my friends as well as my entire old band I think about 40 or so folks in all. When I first walked in it didn't click that the stage was set up and all the guys were standing around just like they were ready to kick off a show. That was the first time all of us were on the same stage at one time in almost a decade. We played together for 17 years and during that time we played about every kind of venue there is. We played small little restaurant/bars like Hooter's and others to large indoor concert stages that you can't see the audience because the lights are on you and off over them. To small outdoor gigs like a commune, we played at twice a year to very large street festivals and state fairs.
Anyway. it was a blast and we decided to start getting back together on a regular basis just to jam and have fun. I don't have pictures of Sunday yet but I'm sure they'll be some hitting my inbox and when they do, I'll post them but, in the meantime, here's a picture when we were gigging constantly, I'm the fat boy in the middle in the blue tee shirt and jeans also before my accident and I was standing on my own 2 legs as they say I'm pretty sure this picture was taken in 2005.

Nice thing for your daughter to do.
I can only hope that my kids like me that much when they are grown.

Very cool. Good to remember just because it isn't your job anymore is no reason to not still play for fun.
I'm working towards that same conclusion.
