It was at a beautiful outdoor setting called Catawba Farms, which is winery/brewery with peacocks, assorted barnyard animals, and cats and dogs running around.

We started at 6:30 and it was sunny with a pleasant breeze. By the beginning of our second set it was becoming a bit cloudy and the wind kicked up. Near the end of the second set we heard thunder in the distance and saw the flash of lightening. As we were outdoors with no covering over our head we decided to risk one more song, bid the audience farewell, and then make a mad dash with our gear. Appropriately enough we ended with "Stormy Monday," the Almond Brother's live version. I love playing Duane's solo on that one.

It was our first show with a new drummer, a guy named Mike who is originally from the home of the electric blues, Chicago. When he's not playing blues/rock he's a pecussionist in a symphony orchestra.

So, we're back!

I'd have liked to see a longer clip! That one sounded great.

I like the anti-amp-tamper setup on your side of the stage too!

Hey mozz, I used your Houzetone Fuzz Tone pedal in my rig last night. Specifically, I used it on "Hey Joe" and "Blue Jean Blues." It sounded awesome! Really thickens up the tone and adds some hair while maintaining superb clarity. At the next gig I'll make some live clips for ya.

Don't have the balls or chops to play live, but much respect for you guys that do and can. Glad you didn't catch one of Zeus' bolts.

1st one out the gate. Congrats. It'll be a bit for me as my old classic rock band has the leader whos barely been in contact and the drummer whos still so freaked out he says he may not get together with anybody until next year. In the mean time I grabbed the bass player whos been covertly jamming for weeks now. We grapped a drummer friend who works overtime at walmart where every day has been black fri for 2 months now. I poached a singer from a metal band that was so far behind being stage ready didnt even know the gem they had. Our first jam went sp well we may be stage ready in a few weeks. I hope so I love not just the harder edge music and the singers voice but the whole damn groove. We had a kings X groove right out of the gate. I didnt even hate my own playing. The other guys are already asking about a band name.
Sorry to hijack. I'm excited. :)

Congrats! I'm jealous.

VA's Phase 2 for reopening starts today (indoor public spaces at 50% capacity), so we're keeping an eye on our local spots plans for gigs. Unfortunately our area has turned into a bit of venue desert when it comes to original music - so there will be a glut of bands clambering to secure spots. It may be a while for us yet...

Awesome! If I was going to entertain a gig again right now, outdoors would be the way to go. My first practice in over 2 months should be this Monday in my backyard. Even a slight return to playing will feel so good.

'Gad to see some live music somewhere. That is a pretty venue. Plenty of stage, too (we have all played on top of bandmates at one time or another).

We are on practice no. 3 since regrouping two weeks ago. We wore masks the first time but unanimously ditched them for the next two (but adhered to safe practice practices).

We thought we had a little memorial jam lined up in 3 weeks but still too early so they cancelled. Maybe do a mini set at July 15 ist open mic at our local spot. Maybe setup outside july4 and foist ourselves on the neighborhood.

Be careful! This freaks me out, just up the road in Jax Beach:

Woman, 15 friends test positive for coronavirus after night out at Lynch’s

https://www.news4jax.com/news/local/202 ... at-lynchs/

[This article doesn't mention it but another one does: Over 20 strangers have contacted her through the social media site to say they also went to Lynch's and subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. :o
