Guess it is a coincidence because I spent yesterday binge watching Flatt & Scruggs.
A few years back the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville issued a ten DVD set of Flatt & Scruggs TV shows from the 1950's & 60's.
I bought all ten, ripped them to .MKV files and copied those to a USB hard drive.
So yesterday, I plugged the hard drive into the Bluray player connected to a 60-odd inch TV.
And spent the whole day in the 50's & 60's.
Buddy Ebsen started in the entertainment business as a dancer, so I'm not surprised he was good at it.

Boston's very own, who pretty much created the current banjo laying style.. and also transcribed a lot of Bill Monroe's songs, as Monroe did not know music notation.
I saw Bill Keith play once. A 3-day bluegrass festival in the middle of winter up here, the Joe Val Festival, large Sheraton hotel, filled with wall-to-wall musicians, freestyle jams in hallways, lobbies, everywhere, banjo, fiddle, uright bass, guitar, You have to weave your way through, quite a sight!.

If y'all love Banjos, let's go to the beginning. Are you guys familiar with Arthur Smith? His song Guitar Boogie is considered by many rock historians as the first rock and roll song. He also wrote a little ditty called Feuding Banjos, which later was rebranding as Dueling Banjos. He had the first music show of its kind on tv. Based in the Charlotte area of NC, my hometown, I can remember his program being immensely popular in the 60's.

After all I was holed up in Nashville in the 1980's & 90's, so the only Boston picker I knew was Guy van Duser.
