Just like it was yesterday. Mike Piazza, a man of deep Catholic Faith, was BORN for this moment in his life and the life of New York.
Took my wife Lyuba to her first baseball game...EPIC EXPERIENCE and made me so proud to be from New York.
We were married a day before on Sept. 20th. For the first time in my life I cried and was hysterically happy at the same time.
She was awestruck.
We had to wait two more weeks to go on a honeymoon because of flight groundings with airlines and hotels to FL in chaos.
On 9/11 I was in the WTC for an IBM Project Management meeting on the 40th floor of the North Tower.
Still there are nights when I wake up with flashbacks of running out of the Tower, seeing bodies hit the street and looking into the eyes of firemen GOING INTO the building. You could see they knew they were going to die and yet they still went in.
Where do we find men such as these? NEW YORK!

It’s weird how an article like that can bring you back. All these years later, it can still get you. I can’t imagine the pain for those families. May they all have found peace. Thank you for posting this.
