Well, that is the problem isn't it? Regardless of what rules your city/county/state/nation set,
they are set by politicians, not scientists. Bummer.
Worse yet, they are set by the party in power at the time...
...and seeing that there are only two possible parties and both are corrupt, condescending and useless....we have a problem

I'll get the booster as soon as it available because I just don't see any reason not to, why take a chance? As I stated before this virus is one that will just keep mutating making booster part of life just like the flu shot. I've heard the ridiculous idea that somehow there is a tracker that gets injected with it which makes no sense when almost all of us are carrying around a cellphone which tracks our every move AND listens to every word you say. A few years ago I would have laughed at the idea but we now know that our own government is doing this along with any hacker who wants to. What really bothers me is the fact that our supreme court judges think this is ok. I really fear that the days of peace in our own country may be over as social media drives us apart through fear mongering for political advantage.

For all intents and purposes, there really are only 2 parties, and I agree both are problems. That's why I've been an independent my whole voting life. Each decision deserves its own critical thought, and I don't care which party says what.

And this is why this country is in trouble, whqt should be purely a scientific discussion devolves into a political one.

Instead assuming leadership is just doing what is better for the greater good, based upon the best information available, we have all come to assume leaders are using each decision as a way to further their own parties fortunes.

I guess 20 years since the last real reset button was pushed is too long ago. This should have been that event that brought the country back to the central tenets that bind us, instead it has become an even larger wedge.

The echo chambers of social media and news media are so dang strong, just look how politicized the fall of Afghanistan has become, it was the first instinct of the right to lay blame at the left's feet yet there are 20 years worth of blame on both sides.

Im going to get tested tomorrow. I have felt a bit off as if with a sinus headache recently. Hay fever type allergies have started to creep in, in the last decade.
I generally feel fine, no cough, no fever, fully vaccinated. But i will get tested.

On the bright side, if I am "positive", thats at least a week of guitar playing, and modding, and gardening...Lazy summer days...I wouldnt mind.

^I sincerely hope it's nothing. The delta variant has me worried, as previously noted. And case counts are rising faster than they should given the number of vaccinated people around here.

I just watched a big thing taking place in Chicago, and while I loved it, they FILLED the United centre for it. Now I am worried about people getting sick from it.

Bottom line is that I am scared my kids will get sick, or that we'll be doing the home schooling thing again. My wife and I are burnt out. If it happens again, I might take a leave of absence.

Not sure if any non-Bills fans have heard about Dion Dawkins? He is the Bills starting left tackle, a big strong young man, freak athlete, and in better shape than any of us.

A little more than a week after his second vaccine dose, he got COVID. 4 days in the hospital, lost nearly 20 pounds, and wasn’t sure he would live. Dayem!

The thing that surprises me the most is that after nearly two years, we still don’t know why some people get it bad while most others have no symptoms at all. Knowing that would probably be real helpful for prevention and treatment.

That's pretty typical, I was poopy all day following my 2nd dose (nothing insane, just fatigue, minor fever, etc) but was right as rain about a day later. I'm guessing by this time tomorrow you'll feel back to 100%.

I wasn't poopy but I felt like poop all day the day after the 2nd shot! The first one, I had a slightly sore arm.

Haha, I wasn't referring to bathroom troubles but just meant that I felt like crap. Same for me - first dose was just some slight arm soreness but second one put me in bed for the day.

I've been fully jabbed since early May so I was just talking about my experience back then, but I know that while we're lucky to have had the vaccinations so readily available here in the US many other countries weren't so lucky. I know we have a member or two here from Thailand, and some other places as well.

Full FDA approval this week will “change” some minds. I know a number of people, including doctors who have been waiting because they have seen the rare but serious side effects and know that there is no access to compensation from vaccine court for an EUA only vaccines. Not even to cover your medical expenses which can exceed 6 figures surprisingly fast.

Once there is FDA approval, the unlucky few who have side effects are eligible for full compensation which can be a really big deal.

Yep, FDA approval opens the door for accountability.
I wish it wasn't for Pfizer as I believe them to be the shadiest of the lot but it is what it is...I believe recent studies with the delta and newer variants put Pfizer at ~40% effective.

I have taken immunizations in the past. You know - the typical MMR, polio, tetanus, influenza and shingles. Especially for the last few, I typically have a reaction (run down, slight fever, etc.).

I had my first dose of Pfizer and just had a tender arm. The second shot - absolutely no side effect. I was actually wondering if I got one of those saline only shots. For about 6 weeks later, I had joint pain on my left side - but was doing a lot of physically exerting work on my yard and garden. It may just be old age creeping in.

When the booster is available, I'll get it.

Oh and as far as the thread topic, my county is right at 50% vaccinated. The largest population of unvaccinated near me, are in the city of St. Louis (40 miles from me). Mostly the black communities, who normally don't trust much at face value and may never trust the vaccine from what I see on the news.
