My new nakiri arrived the other day! I haven't actually used it yet, because, y'know, it's too nice to actually use...

So true! That's why I have a bunch of decent inexpensive knives for general use and nobody is allowed to touch my one good Damascus steel knife (not as nice as yours). Just don't do silly things like using a glass cutting board or throwing it in a sink, or letting others use it, and you'll be fine. Very nice looking knife, I hope it feels balanced and comfy.
Just got this Schrade automatic in the mail today. Not high dollar but pretty cool none the less. I can see how this could be a problem in the future. I'm already looking at fixed blades now....

A gift from my father.
Persian bronze age sword.
circa 1200-800 BC
Its estimated worth, by a prominent knowledgeable auction house, is $500. I find it amazing that such an old artifact ( @3,000 years old) can be valued about the same as a heavily modded MIC telecaster copy (3 years old).

Picked up my second automatic earlier this week from the Smokie Mountain Knife Works while visiting Tennessee. It's a Boker Plus.
