I'm sure I'm late to the party on this but I just looked at Rondo Music site after not having done so for quite a while and noticed a banner at the bottom stating that Kurt is looking to sell the Agile brand.

Wow, is this new? Is this foreshadowing of Rondo going bye bye?

He's been offering to sell the brand for a couple years now I believe. We had a thread about it on the old AGF.

Yes, he's had that posted for quite a long time now, at least 2-3 years. And there were indeed multiple threads about it on the old AGF site.

I beg to differ! We haven't had a single 40% thread yet. Nor anyone posting a Scott Grove video. We haven't even had a good troll yet. I think @toomanycats did dredge up some visions of hbowner for good measure.

Wasn't someone suggesting that Kurt was hinting at possibly closing down Agile if he can't find a seller in emails he had with Kurt? I don't know if I was reading too heavily into someone's comment or what.

I think there were plenty of conspiracy theories out there about it. Bottom line, he seems to be selling just about everything he can get in stock so someone's going to keep cashing in on that. But it if he were to find a buyer I wouldn't hold it against him if he tried to cash in. He pretty much built the brand from the ground up, so more power to him if he can benefit financially. And it's not like he'd be selling his business - Agile is only one part of the Rondo stable of brands ( SX, Hadean, Douglas, and the others that have come and gone ).

Methinks he dragged Agile thru the sewers with all the multistrang thangs until it can no longer make a profit,
thus it is up for sale before it goes belly up.

@mickey I have the feeling he's making more money off those 7-10 stringys than he did leftys. I'll admit as a cheap lefty the higher end Agiles I got were used. I don't think I'm the only one that bought cheaper rather than full retail on some of his stuff

Crazy stuff. BTW, GME at one point was down over $130 in after hours trading tonight. Finished up over $50 at $292...

I admit I am not a big fan of the Agile 7/8 + string multiscale offerings. I'm not a good enough guitarist to make any use of an instrument like that I guess. But Kurt must be making a profit with those to have so many models.

It isn't necessary to be any good/have talent to play one of those as evidenced by the crap on youtube. :D

Charlie hunter is one of the 7 and above stringers that is damn good. His prog rock / jazz isn't everyone' s fav but he's good. Here he is up the road from TMC.
