Just finished the prototype of the AMI Dualism Overdrive based on the Browne Protein dual overdrive. Which is itself pretty much a Nobles ODR-1 and a Marshall Bluesbreaker, with the ability to cascade the ODR-1 into the BB.

I used a PedalPCB.com circuit board as a starting point, as it was perfect for what I was after. The owner and I have been chatting and he is a really nice guy.

My improvements are based on individual ODR-1 and BB type pedals I have developed and really like:
- The Blue Channel is internally switchable from a Bluesbreaker circuit to a King of Tone (normal side), including a presence boost trim pot.
- The Green Channel has a 'fat control', which is a pre-bass that goes from left to right: tight to fat (stock ODR-1).
- The Green Channel also has a slight variation on the hard clipping diodes, which makes it respond dynamically like a tube amp - sometimes symmetrical and sometime asymmetrical, depending on how hard and what frequencies are present. These are socketed and allow for easy repairs and changes.
- All ICs and transistors are socketed, to aid in repair

Awesome pedal. I found myself looking at OD pedals lately. I really should see someone about the GAS sickness. I always end up back with a Tube Screamer.

TS is a great, timeless pedal IMHO. Many people use it with a scooped Fender, but I prefer it to push a crunchy Marshall since it retains a mid-pushed clean tone along with the grit. Especially for making a solo pop, without having to rely too much on decibels.

The pedal I just built can hit that sound, if I want. The ODR-1 has a 'spectrum' control, instead of a 'tone.' It is a timbre control when dialed left, mutes the highs and lows, providing a bit of a mid-hump. To the right, it accentuates the highs and lows. More amp like than the TS, as it is more sensitive to the fingers and compresses when you hit it with gain.

The Bluesbreaker / King of Tone side I have set up like a Fender just a tad past the point of break-up. Gritty, but strident vs. compressed.
