Triple-play of Pedals

My latest completions:

- AMI 'Rawk', which is a boost-limiter like Angus uses with a couple tricks to quiet it down.

- AMI 'Dumblicious', which is my modified Timmy. This one came out fantastic sounding and the new owner of this one will be applying the Dumble-like graphics, using a laser-engraver.

- AMI #10, which started as a Tube Screamer TS10, that I added three soft-clip modes: stock symmetrical -open LED - slightly asymmetrical. It has and extended range of gain and louder volume on tap. It can do the traditional TS10 and then some.

Rawk is awesome. I forgot to ask you which type of power it uses. I think I need to buy an adaptr.

9V works fine. But no more than 12vDC, negative tip supply.

Very cool! I'm quite intrigued by the Rawk. Got any demos or sound clips?

Thanks! Not yet.

First off, this is not Angus in a box. So it won' make your FDDR amp sound like a '75 Marshall JMP Super-lead through a full stack. It emulates 'the' circuit which is found in Angus' secret weapon, his Shaffer-Vega wireless transmitter.

Which is basically two stages of boost. The first stage has a optoisolator (an LED + light sensitive resistor) controlling the gain of the first stage as a limiter (a fast & hard compression only on very loud notes). The second stage is a crushing 31dB, very low-impedance boost.

You set your British-style amp to a nice (not too much) distortion, then back down it's gain a little - plug your guitar through this and set for a bit of limiting and boost to taste. Voila - AC/DC!

Sounds tasty! I've been interested in that "effect" ever since I learned about it a few years ago.

@RiverDog it's similar to one of these. I think the one with three knobs. I know he changed the type of power connector used to something more common and put some effort into making it less noisy:

Thanks my friend. I'm totally digging it!

That seems like a lot of distortion for an Angus tone (maybe in his Live at Donnighton vi, though).
