(Repost from gear acquisition thread)

I ordered a PreSonus PD-70 on Dec 18. It's still stuck in limbo at the USPS hub in Indy. I contacted my sales rep at Sweetwater and they sent out a new one to me on Monday and just got it Wednesday (FedEx).

I've read the PD-70 is the budget Shure SM7B.

Can't wait to try it out!

If that's even close to true, I'd be interested in reading your review too. I think I'm becoming an accidental PreSonus fanboy. I bought a pair of Eris 5 studio monitors a few months ago that are awesome, and then when my audio interface (Lexicon Omega) crapped out for the last time (no more driver support, and ASIO4ALL was no help), I ended up getting a Studio 24c. I didn't set out to buy PreSonus... I figured I would get a Scarlet 2i2 (like everybody else), but the Studio 24c just seemed to be the better choice.

It's the same with Zoom gear... For someone who doesn't have any particular "brand loyalty", I sure have acquired a number of their products over the years.
Finally escaping the People's Republic of Kalifornia!

Off topic, the Tele in your avatar pic is gorgeous.
What wood is that? Looks a lot like cedar or heart pine.

It’s Sapele, and it’s magic in real life... the grain kinda shifts around under the light amd looks kinda velvety. Thanks!

I've been thinking of an AT2020 that should be fine for spoken word and low range, such as 7B - I have a good mic but it doesn't have any low end punch and especially spoken word etc. sound weak on it. This might be interesting.
