Ok, got rid of the GP-200 LT, replaced with a few basic pedals. The Blackstar CV 10 already has a decent reverb and a foot switchable overdrive. I still need to plug these properly into the effects loop but need to drill a hole using a hole saw yet to accommodate cables to make it all neat and tidy.

Initial impressions

From left to right:

Flamma Looper and Drum FS21: absolutely brilliant for the price, construction like a premium pedal costing 4 times more. Works great, nice smooth switches and dead quiet thru the amp.

NUX Analog Delay: classic analog delay copy of the venerable Ibanez unit. Sounds good, basic analog delay but but the foot switch is the worst thing I have ever had in a pedal, a loud annoying click and it actually feels like I'm breaking something when pushing it in. I should have gotten the cheaper Flamma delay after seeing the quality of the looper I regret buying the Nux.

Boss Tr-2 Tremolo: a Boss classic, exactly as expected, works and sounds great, I expect this pedal to be around for my eulogy.

Sound samples once I hook all up properly.

Well..decided the built in overdrive was simply too inflexible as it was only on or off and there was a considerable volume jump when engaged which meant I had to quickly lower or raise the guitar volume when engaging or cutting the drive...

Enter the venerable BOSS Blues Driver BD-2. The great irony here is that when I first started my guitar journey so many eons ago, the ear splitting shrill sounds being responsible for the first of Earth's mass extinctions, the BD-2 was the first pedal I ever bought. After a few days I returned it because it didn't make me sound like a Blues God but only a louder and raspier crap player. In yet another ironic twist, the shop I patronized for this transaction was none other than the now defunct Sam Ash in Edison NJ. RIP Sammy

I have a pedal shelf, too. It's easier to fiddle with when it's waist-high. :)

Quilter Superblock USA (Fender sounds), delay and tuner. Those go into the DAW via the XLR or a speaker cab with the 1/4" cable (besides being DAW-ready, the Superblock has 25 watts weaseled in there somehow).

Ok final setup. Used a hole saw bit to cannibalize my Ikea birch shelf..boy those bits get hot even going thru an inch if wood. The place smells like I've had the fireplace going ..in Thailand ha ha. So far so good, everything works, the Tremolo, Delay, and looper thru the effects loop and the Boss Blues Driver straight into the front of the amp. I hate all the danged cables but no way around using pedals like this. Now I can play and noodle around.

Yeah, I play sitting down 100% of the time so the shelf is great

I can't get my foot up that high. Did you change the footswitches to handswitches? :P
