Your wife shows a lot more interest in your passion than mine does. Mine would cut to the chase a bit quicker by lovingly inquire if one of my old stupid pedals could do the same thing as the waste-of-time project.
She’s a good one. She knows that my little interests and curiosity is just part of who I am. She can accept it or reject it, but she won’t ask me to change it, and I return the courtesy.

My hot water tank gave up all over my basement, my air conditioner kicked the bucket, and the government opened things up a bit, which let me take advantage of a camping trip I had booked but assumed would be cancelled.

During this time, my wife asked a couple of insightful questions.... can't you just conduct this switching using the HeadRush multi effects unit, the Joyo PXL-pro 8 loop switcher or even using the Boss LS-2 Line Selector? The answer is, of course, yes I can. and should.

So, I'll be abandoning this idea to control the loop and the boost with the same switch since I already have multiple solutions at my disposal. I really need to stop tinkering and just play more.

I'd say that tinkering is what makes good demos into great tracks.

Update:

Despite not needing it - I built the footswitch anyway! Did it with my youngest daughter…. She is a curious little “maker” by nature. I actually finished this quite some time ago, but forgot to post it. Now I can step on the Boost and the FX Loop buttons at the same time (with a delay in the parallel loop) and get my lead tone.

Works like a charm! (The pedal is all dirty in this photo... for reasons that are unlikely to become clear)

I missed this last year but right around that same time I had a camping trip reserved for a closed down park that opened only a few days before my reservations. Was it yosemite?
Or was it 2020 I skated in as. it opened?
