So I've spied this model...only available from one large distributer here in Thailand...a little pricey but from what I can tell similar to Agile Quality..
At current exchange rates $500 bucks even
I've looked at a couple of other brands...some cheaper and some equivalent...virtually the same price as the Epiphone Dot here in Bangkok..but with more interesting finish options ...looking to test one out soon as this distributor has locations in certain large Malls, none near me though
What say ye on color choice...my Guitar "space" / Office Room is almost done...by July 15th should be ready for new guitar..
Yeah..there are a few Youtube vids with a guy playing some Jazz on one ...looks pretty good. I'm hoping to see one in stock...otherwise I need to order directly from the distributor and take my chances.
I can...but with some caveats. Everything shipped from overseas has experienced months log delays during the Covid-19 pandemic. Another issue is Thai customs....sometimes they will forward package thru delivery company (DHL for example) and allow you to pay the duty at delivery and sometimes they randomly hold packages and you have to pick up...which is a big pain in the butt..and the question of duty comes into play...nobody seems to know how much, some guys say guitars are exempt and some guys claim they have been hit with anywhere from 10 to 30%...don't pay and don't get your guitar.
Bottom line...lots of hassle. But Grote is an option I'm considering

I'm gravitating toward Natural...but yeah...that flame maple Red looks pretty stinking hot too

I am pretty happy with my Red Grote but I dumped a lot of cash in to it's makeover.

A couple of questions about the Grote...I know the general quality was good...but what about :
Pickups ?
Electronics ?
If I'm buying a semi-hollow 335 type...the pain of swapping these out would be a major disincentive to go that route
Thanks for any input

On the clone I’d go with natural.
On the Grote, I had one, better quality than the Firefly FF335, but not worth twice the price. I settled on s Firefly, have you looked at those?
I did a full review on the forum that shall not be named, but don’t have a link. You can venture into the pit of eternal stench to find it, do ya feel lucky?

Thanks...I'm heading to see if I can find one of the Korean clones in stock somewhere...not shelling $500 out sight unseen before hands on. The Firefly would be an option but not available here in Thailand. We have a few brands likely similar (if not same factory) Matrixss, Century, etc...but none of the colors or finishes are that appealing to me.

...and before anyone asks : if same price as an Epiphone Dot.....because I think any 335 type should have block inlays and NOT DOTS !!!!
