I have a hard time changing my mindset that Harmony guitars were barely playable in the 60's thru the 80's, howled like banshees and were a guitar that was used until you could afford a Gibson, Fender, Guild or Rick. My thought pattern cannot make the leap to quality player grade instruments which look exactly like the guitars one would fight to keep in tune.

They might be really great guitars, but I can't say because I haven't seen one in person. I do find it suspect that brand new people are resurrecting an old brand name and claiming a premium status just because they're USA made. I'll wait and see. As is, it looks too close to an Eastwood Tuxedo, which is a carve-top with storied tone, so the Tuxedo is higher on my list for much less money.

$1500? Are those people on crack? If I want to feel like I'm slumming it in my bedroom, then I'll stick with the Gibson Baldwin Music Education model I picked up for $70. I can invest the other $1420 in a real, gig worthy instrument that will allow me use it as a tool to immediately earn that capital back.

So I was again watching guitar porn on the Harmony Jupiter and the video demo pointed out that while it's expensive, some of that is the premium Mono padded Bag included and of course, the Ntitrocellulose finish which will age and crack beautifully in 40 to 50 years. @ 65 years of age, I'm thinking they would have cracked open my ribs at autopsy well before that finish begins to crack and check. And I already have too many gig bags taking up limited space. $1600 at current exchange rates....yowza

The pricing seems in line with made in USA guitars. Interesting to see things that were made off shore come back. Gibson is making some Epiphones here. Not sure why anyone would opt for one over a Gibson but they know more about business than I do. I suppose there are some loyal Epi players out there.
