Slick 57 S type

I bought one of these as just a kick around guitar not expecting much in build execution but I loved the specs. Here's the kicker, it plays REALLY well and sounds REALLY good. The fretwork is very good and even with no tool marks nor sharp fret ends. The pups sound great, a little hotter than what I'm used to on a Strat, but great none the less. The hardware feels made of high quality materials and work well. The tuners especially. The guitar arrived out of tune but that's it. I didn't have to set anything up. And this is the first import guitar that I've purchased that didn't need an immediate strong change. These feel good. What has everyone else's experience been with these? I'm pretty impressed by the one I received.

My experience has been they don't come in lefty. But that does look pretty cool. Awesome that it plays and sounds good too!

That looks great - love the finish. I've always had an eye for their double cut models.

A number of years ago I actually contacted the GF owner to express interest in lefty versions of a number of their guitars but was told very politely and tactfully that just wasn't going to happen. it was the same story with Hardluck Kings, Pure Salem and Sire (you can add Rondo to the list as well). In the current environment, I don't think anything is going to change anytime soon...

If someone was really interested in pushing the issue, I sincerely believe "The Americans With Disabilities Act" would hang them.

HNGD - that's a pretty wild looking strat for sure, glad to hear it met and exceeded your expectations. No offense intended, but that looks like a guitar that you should definitely wear Zubaz while playing.

Their single coil pickups that I've tried, and past on, seem very good for the money.

Really! When I spoke with the owner 3-4 years ago he told me once the lefties he still had in stock sold, that was it because they moved so slowly. And up until now, that's been the case. The owner of Pure Salem said the same thing...

And PureSalem's owner (Rick) is a lefty if I'm not mistaken.

Didn't you have an HLK SG type guitar?
Really, they have a few in the "Pre Order 26's section." Not so many that it will blow your hair back, well that's a task, but there are a few and cover the main models.

I have what they call a Spider which is sort of a Firebird with a Strat style headstock and little spider inlays on the fretboard. It's a matte green which one of these days I'll be painting Pelham Blue. It had black hardware which I gave away to another forum member. I'm not sure if I should go with gold or chrome hardware, probably chrome:

I have a green (brighter) spyder with gold hardware. I like it a lot. I don't know how gold hardware would look on a phlegm blue, maybe you could mix-and-match colors
Maybe the SG I thought you had was a Revile. Maybe not, who can keep it straight?

Yeah, I'll probably stick with chrome. I do have a Reville SG along with about a dozen others and don't worry, I can't keep things straight either....

Yes he is, I actually met him when I bought an MIA Strat from him and he lives only about forty-five minutes away. I also told him once this virus thing has run it's course, I wanted to talk to him about some guitar model ideas I had. He seemed interested at the time...

Ah cool - hope that turns into something. I have 2 of his guitars, and think they're pretty good (A TomCat and a Billy Bo shaped one-off).

Give me about a year or so. By then I might be in a position to take a shot at resurrecting the old Agile classics and finishes...

I'll make sure there are at least a few right-handed offerings. Better get used to black and CSB only though...
