Now I've seen some weird guitars, but I think this one may take the cake. It's a real guitar folks!

I dunno what it is but can safely say it looks sorta like an electric guitar. :D
Wonder if there is a piezo under the T.O.M.?

Ya gotta at least wonder why anyone thought a pickup on that side of the bridge was a good idea.

I'm trying to figure out what the deal is with that one. I'm guessing it started its life as a Studio with two P-90s, then somebody routed out space for two more humbuckers, plus one behind the bridge?

What an idiot this person was. EVERYONE knows that as a behind the bridge pickup a mini hum sounds better than a regular humbucker. Duh. ;)

Are we taking bets on whether there's yet another pickup above the nut? Because this modder is nuts enough to do that.

That trem looks like it might double as a can opener or hedge trimmer. If it were red I'd call it a Swiss Army guitar.

Actually, that's pretty ingenious. Drone strings without having to add strings that get in the way of playing, like on the sitar.

I actually don't hate it, it's not for me, but I don't hate it.
Hear me out.
It's like having '11' on your amp. Or EVH dead pickups to throw people off. Or TV detectives racking a round everytime they exit their car.

That thing sold! Don't remember the original price, the ad says $200 now. Probably offered him enuff to get the $ out of the parts, and then saved the guitar for the next winter's firewood pile.

That's not a Studio. Look at the way the knobs are arranged... That's a $99 "Special" or "Special II". They must have done that purple-burst themselves too, because those guitars usually only come in black or brown.

Good catch on that, although I don't think it was a Special II because those had wraparound bridges. It could be a regular Special because the control arrangement is pretty close, as you point out: https://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone/L ... UUQAvD_BwE

They also come in burst finishes, but I'm pretty sure purpleburst was never one of them!

Yeah, I wasn't sure what the difference was between a Special and Special II, so I just threw them both out there. And after the "Squier Telecaster Deluxe" vs "Squier Deluxe Telecaster" confusion, I didn't want anyone to think I was talking about one of these:

I can't help but be curious what the behind the bridge pickup sounds like. Probably like distorted nails on a chalkboard, but I am curious...

I have hit the strings behind the bridge on quite a few of my guitars just for effect. It would be very tinny because of the pickup location, and with completely uncontrolled tuning of very short string lengths, which would also make it sound more tinny. I don't want to hear it strongly amplified.
