I’m soon getting my first Floyd rose guitar. Big fan of Van Halen, and wondering if EVH pickups are too far for me to still play other stuff on it. Should I get EVH pickups or just some screamers? If so, anyone know any good affordable screamers? (Humbuckers)

By "EVH pickups" I'm assuming you mean the Frankenstein. I don't own one of those pickups, but from everything I've read it's supposed to be pretty versatile and cleans up well with rolling back the volume knob.
The EVH Frankenstein is 14.4K resistance and supposedly uses a degaussed A2 magnet. In theory it's somewhat similar to the Seymour Duncan Custom Custom, and I do have one of those the bridge position of my Schecter Solo 6 Custom. I find the Custom Custom very versatile. Insofar as the Frankenstein is similar to the Custom Custom, I assume it would also be able to cover a lot of ground.
I'm sure somebody here has a Frankenstein humbucekr and can weigh in with first hand experience regarding it's versatility. My gut instinct is that the pickup would be a really good match for a Dinky.
Now you've just got to figure out what to put in the neck position.

I can say from experience that the EVH Wolfgang pockups are pretty good for a lot of different things. You might want to see how whatever is in the Jackson sounds before you make decisions though.
