That is a model I have never seen before!
In case anyone doesn't know Shine guitars were made by the same company that made the Douglas hollow & semi-hollow guitars.
If it had humbuckers I would have already ordered it. I'm just not a P90 type person.

Was that most likely a european model someone brought over with them? This would have never been released here right?

Not necessarily. For a year or so just before Saein went belly up, there was a Shine importer/dealer out in California (bay area if I remember correctly)
and it is possible he imported it.

Rondo-type guitars seem to "hold their value" when it comes to GC used pricing (not that they'll sell). For me, at that price I think I'd be inclined to look at Epiphone Wildkat line, but I'm not sure if lefty versions are available. And I don't know how bad the known issues are with Epis, I've looked into them years ago and I think they had their detractors. But that's the "category" of guitars that I thought of when I saw this one.

I wonder if you could call directly that store and ask them for a lower price :)

If it didn't have P90's I would have already done that. :D

But you could always put in a TV Jones in a P90 shell

I already have an Agile Harm equipped like that. :D

Someone had been selling those Shines via Amazon probably same fella, that price seems high for a used Douglas... especially after accounting for shipping and tax.

There was a right-handed one of those up for sale on Reverb for quite a while recently; if it had not had f-holes, I'd have been all over it. Oh, well...

We humans are funny critters.
The P90's were a deal breaker for me, F-holes are a deal breaker for you, the type of neck inlays are a deal breaker for other folks. etc.
I suppose if we all agreed there would only be one type/model/color/etc. of guitar in the world.

Funny you should say that. In my observation roughly 50% of guitar forum content and YouTube comments to videos showing off new guitar models consist of comments like that - "if only it had [x], I would totally buy it". I'm sure I've done that myself

Well, that one is what I would call a "chambered solid body" as opposed to a genuine semi-hollow body guitar.
Unlike the Agile Harm there are NO access panel(s) on the rear of the body.
This means it is going to be a genuine certified U.S.D.A. prime P.I.T.A. to replace the pickups, pots etc.
Everything has to go in/out thru the F-holes and (minus the rear access panel) routing the wiring is going to take lots of time & patience.

Like everyone else, I have other things going on in my life & I'm just not interested in that much of a job at the moment.
In case you are interested, I've recently been getting back into ham radio following a vacation since 1998. :D

Yep, I think even regular hollowbody archtops are a PITA to work with (I still have to do my WhiNO at some point), I definitely would not want anything more difficult than that.

I know just about nothing about HAM radio. Some people say it was like the internet before internet. I once bought a little hand-held ham unit to see if I could play with it to listen in on stuff. I couldn't even figure that out. Kind of like when people buy binoculars or a cheap telescope for amateur astronomy and quickly abandon it because they don't see anything like in the movies

What it really means for me is we all have so damn many guitars we are looking for any reason not to buy.

I don't know, I'm usually looking for reasons to buy. I.e. if Gretsch came out with a Jag-Paul equipped with quintuple coil CrMoV pickups, I would order yesterday
