Revv and Blake Wright guitars

Anyone remember these 2 short term guitar brands?
I have 1 of each but Google doesn't yield a ton of results for info.
There's a Revv double cut LP the same as mine listed on reverb for 600 but I think that might be high.
Blake Wright I have is a tv Yellow prs style guitar I think ordered by a prior agf member that had a bunch of guitars made in China to his specs that he resold.

Ringing any bells for anyone?

IIRC, Revv guitars were consider decent enough to keep them. Now, $600 for one I think it´s a little too much. I´ll try to dig more info later.

And now that you mentioned it, what´s your opinion on that double cut model you have? A nice guitar overall?

Yes, I bought 5 Reville guitars when he was closing them out. They were well made but not amazing. They have good bones as mod platforms. They were maybe $150 each at that point, but that was closeout pricing. Mine are 1 LP, 1 SG, and 3 JM shapes. I completely modded one of the JMs into one of my favorite rock P90 guitars. $600 is high in my opinion though.

Both are good guitars for the 200ish to 300ish range. Neither of them scratches a specific itch for me anymore though so I was thinking of parting with them but im.not sure.
The Blake Wright is well made, not quite Agile quality but definitely a step up from SX quality. I don't have any pics on my phone but it's a trans TV yellow, some grain shows through. Definitely prs shape without the carved ares in the horn, this is just a slab cut in that prs shape.

I've never heard of Blake Wright, but I've got a few Revilles which I think are later versions of Revv: LP, Tele Thinline, Jazzmaster and an SG which I later gave to @Mickey as a pitiful attempt at repayment for an old-style Agile AS-820 (Gibson 335 horns vs. standard Gretsch semi-hollow body horns with a Gibson pickup in the neck position) that he had previously given me.

I like it a lot better than my Agile Valk, but it doesn't have air in the middle & anyone who knows me knows that I can only truly fall in love with hollow body guitars.

I think the Blake Wright Guitars member on the old site was Horax. I had the TV yellow PRS style P90 double cut, it was called the Santa Fe. It was a decent guitar. I believe the sell price was around $200; I think I paid a total of $230 with shipping and tax.

I ended up liking the P90 Liquid better with the beefier neck profile, so it got sold.

I think the Blake Wright Guitars member on the old site was Horax. I had the TV yellow PRS style P90 double cut, it was called the Santa Fe. It was a decent guitar. I believe the sell price was around $200; I think I paid a total of $230 with shipping and tax.

I ended up liking the P90 Liquid better with the beefier neck profile, so it got sold.

I remember both but unfortunately have some bad memories ( nightmares? ) about the Blake Wright guitars. He was doing custom builds for a while when starting up business, and it sounded too good to be true - and it was unfortunately. I ordered the equivalent of a 1954 Les Paul custom reissue ( all black, soapbars, block inlays, vintage died binding, the whole 9 yards. Essentially asked for as close to a copy as he could get but with his name on the headstock. I don't remember the exact price but it was less than $400. He even said they could do a nitro finish at that price.

He had a thread going here on AGF showing progress of all the custom builds that people here had signed up for, there were several of us. But the process of course ended up dragging out much longer than initially promised, and also found out that certain things ended up not being an option - like the nitro finish for example. Even without that though, I was still excited. When it finally arrived it was a complete disaster in just about every aspect you could imagine. Finish flaws everywhere, mis-drilled/off center tuners, a horror show of a neck pocket, the list goes on and on. I ended up sending it back and eating my deposit/return shipping so it cost me about $100 to be a guinea pig. If I remember correctly @honyock had a similar experience with the flying V custom he ordered.

Bottom line he was a nice enough guy, but his business model needed some tweaking to say the least

Ah, now I remember Blake Wright guitars. I never bought a guitar but vividly recall the terrible experience @honyock had. I bought a couple sets of rebranded import pickups from him which were sold separately. It's been literally years since I played the guitars they're in but IIRC, they were decent for the price.

Yes, IIRC the stock models he was selling were mostly well received. I kind of kept quiet about my custom catastrophe at the time as he was still a member and I didn't want to bash him publicly, but I certainly had some ammo to do so And granted I think that was the only custom run that he did, he told me he was probably not going to do more after that fiasco.

I know they're thin, but unless I missed it, I'm surprised no one has ever tried making a semi-hollow SG...

This and my Sante Fe are completely stock and that's why I was thinking of selling when looking over my list of guitars that still need pickups...

Yeah, I forgot about the fiasco too. As dumb as it sounds, I never bought a BW because I didn't like the name as a 12th fret marker, thought that was cheesy. Otherwise I would have been in on one of those too.

Well I won't be trading either of these in at my local music go round store.
I got an offer of 65 on the Blake Wright and 115 on the Revv. I'm not far off on the Revv but 65 for the Sante Fe was ridiculous.
