I was considering getting a Warmoth conversion neck, but then I noticed this:
https://reverb.com/item/37304520-allen- ... -dot-inlay
"Allen Eden S-Style Guitar Neck 24.75" Dot Inlay"
But the description is pretty minimal. Has anybody seen one of these before? I'm wondering what the use case is - is it like a conversion neck, or something else? I guess I could buy one and try it out, but with the paddle headstock, you'd have to modify it before you could use it, so there'd be no returning it if it didn't work out.
Anybody know Allen Eden and their Gibson-scale necks?
I do not know them but went to the seller's website & poked around.
Their FAQ says something along the line of: if you don't find the answer to your question, call us at (626) 258-0009.
You don't like their "Epiphone" headstocks???

I have put in a question via the chat function on their website, so we'll see what they say. It would be pretty weird if they sold necks that didn't work with their strat-compatible (they say) bodies, but stranger things have happened.
I've bought a sunburst Tele body from them last year. No problems bolting it together with a chinese strat neck, but i can not say how the necks they sell are. Since it's not a normal scale i would call and ask about it.

I got a response from them!
Well, poop. It seems weird that they would sell bolt-on necks that don't work with the bodies they sell, but that is at least a pretty straightforward answer. So much for my dreams of a cheap conversion neck.Unfortunately no since it's a different scale than our bodies are built to.
FWIW, those SX Gypsy Rose Strats that were available a few years ago have a Gibson 24.75" scale neck (body is 7/8 normal size) and might work (I measured mine against a standard one and it looks like the geometry is good). If that's the case and you're looking to go with that and you're not in a hurry, keep an eye on the used market, I haven't looked lately but IIRC, they were going for under $100. If all you want is the neck, just have seller send you that, I can't imagine shipping being more than $20 or so...

That's a clever idea. I might have to look out for one of those. Of course all of this is really just an attempt to avoid spending money at Warmoth...tobijohn wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 7:21 pm FWIW, those SX Gypsy Rose Strats that were available a few years ago have a Gibson 24.75" scale neck (body is 7/8 normal size) and might work (I measured mine against a standard one and it looks like the geometry is good).
