Re: Anyone remember Jim?

Is Mickey still around? I haven't seen any posts from him since I started coming back around. Sorta. Hi Mickey! I hope you are well my friend. Agreed, hope things are going OK for you in the Sister City :-) I do remember Jim (Perfect Stranger) all too well - he was one of the few people here that I...

Welcome back. Still lots of good people and good conversation here. It’s nice to see members from the old site continuing to find the way back home.

Re: FYI: Bugera T5 Infinium 5W Head $139 new at Adorama

Seems like a pretty safe gamble. Who here remembers the big Musician's Friend Bugera blowout many years ago? Was about the same time as the $159 AL-2000 extravaganza

OK - all 3 of us are officially in. Let's try and get it up to 12...makes the draft a little more challenging too :-)

Re: AGF 2023 Fantasy Football League...That Time Again!

My crew ( me and my 2 sons ) are 95% sure, my oldest son just needs to confirm his work schedule. He got his first real job as a Paramedic working 24h shifts, so he can't really do the live draft if he's working that day. I will confirm within 24h

Re: Rant: White middle-age dudes going gaga over any guitar wailing

Remember that booze and pot make lousy shows interesting. I flew into Minneapolis tuesday Morning and the entire city was covered in a somewhat smoky haze. We've had a lot of wildfire smoke from Canada coming down, but then I remembered that Minnesota also went live with legalized recreational Mari...

Re: Back in FL

For the AGF florida crew: I've been travelling down here to your neck of the woods on a monthly basis now for work and back again this week in Fernandina Beach ( way up north! ). I have been trying to find local places that might offer some good music or maybe even a good guitar shop to check out b...

Looks like the perfect setup, glad the gig went well. I must be living under a rock but I did not realize you were back into the Electric world, I thought most of your sets of late were with the acoustic group.

Re: Guitar Hero Week + any Houston area AGF'ers out there?

Tommy is awesome. I watch a lot of videos of him playing with all kinds of folks. When are you coming back to Florida? Yes, he seems to be about as down to earth as you can get, especially for a guy that has skills that come from another planet. I've seen several of those videos of him playing with...

Guitar Hero Week + any Houston area AGF'ers out there?

I got a chance to see Tommy Emmanuel last night, he played at our lone local theater venue, along with Guest Gareth Pearson. We occasionally get a major/national act coming through town in between Minneapolis and Chicago that makes a stop, so it was an opportunity I could not pass up. It was a great...

Re: Guitar Center experience

They do actually still have run promotions on used stuff from time to time, there was a 15% off used gear over $199 (or maybe $299?) like 2-3 months ago if memory serves. If you ever see it again please post here in the deals thread. As much as Iike them as a used source, I couldn’t handle all the ...

Re: Guitar Center experience

Glad it worked out for you Buddy . There is indeed a cost to trade but sometimes it’s worth it vs the hassles of selling on your own. I would echo slowhand84 on the GC used market, I too have scored some epic deals there. I also remember the days when they used to offer 10-15% off coupons on used, I...

Anyone know of if there us such a thing. For a short time I had an epi 339 and it fit in the Fender gig bag I was storing an LP in at the...

Re: If you could design your dream amp...

so my Friedman Pink Taco V2 is almost perfect for me. It's got that "on the record" Marshall sound that most marshall's don't have or you can't get. You know, you hear a tone on a recorded song, and you know exactly what amp they used, but you can't get any Marshall to reproduce it... Wel...

I am still working through the stash of the Reverb branded Snark knockoffs that they sold for $2.97 each during a sale. Back in the good ol' days when AGF'ers used to share deals and pile on when they came up - like the $159 AL-2000 frenzy :-) I think I bought 10 of these and they have been disperse...

Re: This place is too quiet!!! So NGD post.

Looks like a pretty straightforward machine...love the traditional finish and controls. The whole Godin Group ( Seagull, A&L, etc ) quietly puts out a very nice range of guitars, both acoustic and electric. Maybe not as quietly in Canada but still under the radar here. HNIGD!

Re: Poll: Whats on your purchase radar?

We have been looking at houses lately so no major guitar related purchases on the horizon, if anything perhaps a bit of housecleaning/thinning the herd. I still occasionally get an itch to buy one of the smaller Friedman heads but then I remember that I plug in to an amp less frequently than I go to...

I'm glad he seems to be taking it in stride, water damage is no joke. Although most of the Agile guitars I have owned had enough poly on them that they were probably waterproof to at least 10M ;-)
