What is this "snow" of which you speak?????
[/quote]

Up until this week it was actually colder at our Florida plant ( Fernandina Beach ) than here in WI ;-)

Re: Bugs in the Tropics

We got a couple inches of snow this morning and have had temps in the 20's at night so at least there are very few bugs around ;-)

Re: It's only uphill one way - what do you do for exercise?

Since I passed the 50 mark a few years back, the doc has been giving me a hard time about my annual readings - mostly cholesterol. I have made a lot of changes over the past decade to try and improve my health, quitting drinking was probably the biggest change that made substantial improvements. But...

GC - 10% off used

I have scored a lot of good deals over the years when Guitar Center has run 10-15% off coupons on used gear, but I have not seen it for a long time. Looks like it runs through the 25th of October and has a minimum purchase of $499 in cart ( not per item ). Appears to add the discount automatically i...

Re: What song are you obsessed with right now?

Other than the mentioned Cheap Trick song, I've also been listening to Rainbow's "Stone Cold" on repeat. I even took the time to learn the solo note-for-note. Such a perfect solo, with beautiful Strat through a Plexi tone, so emotional and expressive. It's essentially a bluesy solo with s...

Awesome - glad you were able to realize the dream! Kerranng...now that dredges up some good memories too. I had a Dimarzio SD soapbar in an LP junior once, it was a great pickup.

Re: Revv and Blake Wright guitars

Ah, now I remember Blake Wright guitars. I can't recall his screen name but would recognize it. I never bought a guitar but vividly recall the terrible experience @honyock had. I bought a couple sets of rebranded import pickups from him which were sold separately. It's been literally years since I ...

Re: Revv and Blake Wright guitars

I remember both but unfortunately have some bad memories ( nightmares? ) about the Blake Wright guitars. He was doing custom builds for a while when starting up business, and it sounded too good to be true - and it was unfortunately. I ordered the equivalent of a 1954 Les Paul custom reissue ( all b...

Re: Two Parlor Acoustic Electrics For Sale

@uwmcscott you don't happen to have a Gibson 335 with the satin burst finish laying around that you would be willing to work a trade for do you? My Takamine Sante Fe that I acquired back in the 90's has always been the absolute shit when it comes to acoustics. I wish I had a Gibson I liked better b...

Re: Agile AL-3100MCC is being discontinued. The end of an era

IMHO, one of their best models for value and usefulness was the AL2000. Especially when they were blowing them out for $170 ish that one Christmas. The basic model had a great neck somewhere between a 50's and 60's LP. Swap the ceramic magnets for a $6 Alnico 5 magnet in the pickups (neck only if y...

Re: Anyone remember Jim?

His epic meltdown over his lack of customer service from a string company was Top 10 in the Old AGF. I bought a Harm1 from him. "Top 10 in the old AGF" needs to be a thread, maybe even with multiple categories. Some of my nominations would include 1. The Harpmaster/AJL saga - probably cou...

Yes, it's quite pervasive. VPN's and browser security can help somewhat, but for the most part if you want to play the game you end up giving up some info.

Great score and again the John Way nostalgia kicks in. I think his videos were some of the very first exposure I had to Agile/Rondo way back when I was just getting back into playing again.

Re: Agile Guitars in The Wild...

Man, the John Way videos really bring back some memories of the old AGF and my return to the guitar world. He’s like the Bob Ross of guitar demos. I saw that AS1000 listed on my Reverb feed and my immediate thought was to post it here, but I just got over Covid (2nd time around) and my mind is still...
