Re: New Project SX

Nice - SX is still one of the best bang for you buck guitars out there, even after all these years. Looking forward to the end result!

Re: And so it ends

This is a bummer, and I remember well your choice to go back to this company over another opportunity. The sting will last a while and it’s OK to feel betrayed/pissed off. You have lots good experience and companies are really struggling to find good people, so another opportunity will present itsel...

Subscribed!

This is on my bucket list, very cool that you are able to do it with your son too, the memories ( and the guitars ) will be epic. We have nothing like this close to me but someday hope to find a place to do it.

RIP to him and peace to those around him, what a horrible way to go and far too young. I was not a fan of his music nor his brand/associated politics but he certainly influenced a lot of people and was a skilled songwriter.

Cool. I see free old pianos on Craigslist all the time, and often wondered if you could make some guitars out of the old mahog....but that's taking it to the next level for sure.

Re: Travis-Taylor not unlike Marcel Cerdan-Edith Piaf

I am not sure why the NFL producers are so enamored with Taylor other than they see it attracting her fans in. Again not sure why they think that is a good thing. That's exactly it - $$$. Having her sitting in the booth at Cheifs games has boosted ratings to all-time levels, even in the regular sea...

Send some our way please! We got just enough to make everything white/open the ski hills and snowmobile trails after Christmas, and then bitter cold for a week - but now rain and mid 30's.

Re: Illegal to work on your own electronics in Nordic countries?

Dunno whether the 23 is like the 24 or not but I was reading that a REPLACEMENT HEADLAMP for a 2024 F150 is a tad over $6,000.00 ! That's a bit of an exaggeration but yes, the headlight and taillight assemblies on most of these new vehicles are very expensive. Mostly because they contain a lot more...

Re: Illegal to work on your own electronics in Nordic countries?

You pay $40K for a car loaded with features and the brand hacks your car and shuts off features. Where did you find a new car loaded with features for 40K ;-) I recently purchased ( against my own best judgement ) a 2023 F150 to replace my 2017. The whole price craziness aside, indeed it is more li...

I work for a company that is HQ'd in Norway. I've only been there a handful of times but one of my co-workers is also an amateur photographer and tinkerer, and he has a whole garage studio filled with projects and electronic equipment in varioius stages of "repair" ;-) I won't give any mor...

I wish I could think of this one member... was kind of surly. I still can remember that av. When I joined his av was himself with short hair. Toward the end itd grown out, but both images were him screaming into a mic in his bands. Yeah I remember him. He was a pompous dick. Smartest guy in every r...

Merry Christmas tonebender and all the rest of the AGF family! I have been travelling a lot for work so not around as much as I should have been. Gretsch streamliner/2xxx Adorama deals

Ran across this on Slickdeals today - looks like they've been running some of these sales for a week or so on Gretsch Streamliner models. Several under $300 and a couple of them closer to $200. I played a few of these at a local shop a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised with the Price/qualit...

I check all the same boxes you to ( don't gig, never plan to, my living room is my stage ). I would echo the recommendations for a SS amp as you can do a lot more at low volumes ( or with headphones ) than you could ever do with tubes. I currently have a gen Boss Katana and it does just about anythi...

Re: Electric Vehicles

@uwmcscott Don't forget the difference between the driving distances between here & there. On this side of the pond 800 miles seems to me like a typical day's drive while 800 km would be a helluva long drive in one day over there. I was actually surprised how many people commute significant dis...

Re: Electric Vehicles

Personal opinion here: EVs are not all the way there yet. The charging infrastructure needs to get better across North America, and the charging needs to get faster. In the US specifically, infrastructure is definitely an issue. I started a new job 2 years ago for the US division of a global compan...

[Maybe price but not build quality. Based on my experience, they're more like SX/Douglas/Hadean, if that. However, I haven't bought any recently, @Lamf77 or @LightWingStudios would be better judges of current build quality... I would second that notion. I had a white DC just like the one in the OP ...

I still say SX Is hard to beat. And while agile inventory has dwindled at Rondo he seemingly always has a good selection of SX tele/strats and liquids. The SX LP's have gotten good reviews too.
