Re: '68 Custom Vibro Champ 5 Watt
For the vast majority of guitar players at home 5 watts is PLENTY!Partscaster wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 8:37 pm Seems really nice. For just 300$ more (40%) , you could get the 12 watt Princeton Reverb...but maybe 5 watts is all one needs lots of the time. 5 watts may sound better cranked than 12 watts at 4.

Re: AGF Evolution?
For some of us myself included it got to the point I forgot which guitars I had where and was barely playing any. That created some concern. For me it was like what is the point. I had purchased all of the style guitars I had interest in and now needed to just enjoy them. But buying was fun and (at ...

Re: Seymore Duncan Seth Lover Pickups
[ I agree. The Antiquities do sound more crisp than the SL's but I can't stand reliced stuff. Just a personal picadillo... You are in luck since SD now offers all of the Antiquity pickups with standard un-aged covers, and that option costs about $20-30 less per set give or take depending on the pic...

Re: Seymore Duncan Seth Lover Pickups
I much prefer the tone and character of “vintage” output, untaxed PAF style humbuckers. The Seth’s are a really good version of that, but the SD Antiquity are another level beyond IMHO. They have extra clarity to them and to me are worth whatever the small price difference. https://youtu.be/85SmwA5...

Seymore Duncan Seth Lover Pickups
I like humbuckers. My favorite are Filtertrons but I had a set of Gibson 57 Classics I liked a lot. I also had a custom wound set that supposedly emulated them and I did not like those. I have watched a ton of YT videos and to be honest added to some of my confusion. I was ready to buy a set of Gibs...

Re: All of my guitars.
Lancerthegreat. I looked into the Neural product, it seems geared towards much heavier music than I generally play. Thanks for the tip though. OMB. I am going to have to look into the Quilter product a little more. And that Paul’s guitar sounds good. My CE-24 sounds good split as well, and most of ...

Re: All of my guitars.
Sam - Have you tried a Quilter Superblock UK? No tubes but it does capture some of the Vox essence and is small and can be played at low volumes. https://www.quilterlabs.com/images/quilterimg/productimages/1842/quilter-superblock-uk-2.png And since you like PRS - Have you tried a SE Paul's guitar? Hey you kept the ones that you bonded with right Sam? I feel much better since I have reduced my inventory of sticks and strings. I still have a few more to go. but will eventually get there. I am sorry to hear your wife is still having health issues. I agree with you about PRS. Never heard of them ...

Re: OK...Which one Do I Buy ? Epi Casino Worn -or- Epi Riviera
Epi started using that headstock design in the 1930's or 1940's, in other words long before Gibson bought Epi. Like they started using the frequezator tailpiece along about the same time. :) Still don't like it...even it is vintage style..not so much the shape..it's just too long ! I agree complete...

Re: OK...Which one Do I Buy ? Epi Casino Worn -or- Epi Riviera
I never had any issues with the frequensator tailpiece. It stayed in tune and was easy to restring. The necks on both those guitars I think are identical coming out of the same factory? They have much more meat on the bones than the Korean versions which caused me great (cramping) difficulty. They w...

Re: OK...Which one Do I Buy ? Epi Casino Worn -or- Epi Riviera
I have owned a Casino and a 2000ish Riviera. Very different sounding and feeling guitars because one is fully hollow and the other is a semi hollow. I have even been considering another Riviera because the mini hums sound great.

Re: NUGD - Eastman E1D
Eastman makes some solid value guitars that punch above their weight class. The newer Red Label Yammies aren't bad either. And finding a Larivee can be difficult at best.

They have been making them in Indonesia for some time now. I have never found an Epi that came close to the AS Ibanez series.
