Re: Hey! Look at my Gibson

Those look great - is it the lighting or is the middle one a different shade of gold? IMG_2876.JPG Funny, because when I posted the pic I noticed the same thing. The two on the outside are 60's Tributes with not nearly the amount of finish as the middle model. There is a coat of green under the top...

Home Stereo Question

I am not up on the latest home stereo gear. We recently moved and the old Kenwood 777's from the 70's no longer work with the motif in our new mansion. So I purchased a pair of Klipsch speakers, the book shelf variety. I hooked them to my existing Yamaha receiver and they sound fine. Me, I cast spot...

Re: And This Why The Car's Elliott Easton Is a Frickin' Genius

A very good sample of how to play your part in the band and get out the way the rest of the time. Less is more approach. Some very tasty licks. I wore than album out when it hit the streets. I traveled between Norfolk and Danville each weekend and it was on the play list along with Van Halen's first...

Re: Giving Up Satellite TV

I use an antenna and I subscribe to Sling. I also still hang onto the $12 a month (2) disks at a time deal with Netflix. I may be the only customer still doing that lol, but it works for me. In the end I am getting everything I want our of TV for $45/mo. I got rid of cable and the sat dish in the ea...

Re: MIA: AGF Milk carton kids

In fairness, Tony had an avalanche of crap hit all at once while he was trying to do a re-finish/rebuild for a member. His health went south in a serious way, his marriage failed and all this put him on the economic skids. He is a very proud guy and did not want to fail at the luthier task and he di...

Congratulations! Friday the 12th is my last day of full time employment. I turned in my notice this past Monday. After a break I will be working 3 days a week for the firm I started with. Full circle of life. Not sure how long I will do part time but until the end of the year seems feasible. I too f...

Re: Writing Tunes - Changing Key Within a Song

There are lot of great songs that modulate up, "usually" a half step. Most in my memory banks are of the country genre but Surrender is one rock tune I can recall that goes up a half step about 2/3's through the song. I have never heard of multiple key changes but it sounds interesting.
