I made my own in the past, both aluminum and plastic, but if you aren't equipped for DIY, I'd go with these and try them. Plastic is better, aluminum darkens the tone. I speak from experience. It's been a busy month but I've managed to get the body under clear coat, and the neck carved and ready for finish.

Shellac time. The figure is really popping now!

Also, my first time attempting this feature, and it turned out pretty good - a side port.

Just a bit of sanding left, then I can route the dovetail pocket and start applying shellac.

A couple updates. I've completed the walnut binding.

That's looking great!

I've also installed the walnut end flash.

The back is now trimmed flush.
