Re: If you think guitars are overpriced, look at saxophones...

Oh yeah, I know this pain. My son is a multi-instrumentalist, and can play basically any woodwind, and the majority of brass, along with a bunch of percussion, etc. His semi-pro clarinet was $1800, his Mellophone was $1600, his bass clarinet was $1000 used. He wants a saxophone, but I just don't hav...

Re: Electric Vehicles

The only fair thing to do is a mileage tax, but they won't do that because that won't allow them to pull in more money than before. I guarantee my 3500-4000 miles a year that I drive is having effectively zero effect on the roads here...

That's a beauty! But I feel like its just screaming for black colored P90's though, just to complete the black out look.

Re: Prog Metal on a Tele???

Nice playing as always! I still want to get me a Tele (or Tele style) guitar. Something about that classic shape, I guess. Is your Tele a Fender, or a different brand? I get the pull from the PRS Tele style guitars, but that is as expensive as my PRS McCarty was, so probably not happening anytime so...

Re: It's only uphill one way - what do you do for exercise?

I've got a 4 day a week routine: Monday and Wednesdays are weight lifting days, mainly upper body since I had surgery on my knee last year. Tuesday and Thursday are high intensity workouts with 20 minutes on the exercise bike, followed by light weights, done 3 times (so 60 minutes total on the bike)...

Re: Grungy Goodness

Sweet tune! Your descriptions are spot on, the main riff sounds like its right out ofJerry Cantrell's toolbox, and the soloing is very reminiscent of Satch. The intro reminded me of Tool...

A little more rock oriented song, that initial riff really drives the song along!

That was a crunchy piece of work there! I liked the discordant stuff kinda floating beneath the crunch of the main riff. Definitely captured the feeling of doom in the music...

Amazing how large the entire band was at that point. To create the sound they wanted, looks like they had like 10 or 11 players, including the backup singers. Today, its just done with a laptop lol

Re: #58 FAFO

The intro riff sounds like a heavy Iron Maiden style, I liked that a lot. The solo parts had a kinda Middle Eastern or Egyptian feel to it, other than the insanely fast part where I mainly wonder how you can move your fingers so fast :-) And make it sound good too!

From the headstock down to the pickups, it looks like my old PS-900, but I don't remember the ass of the body looking, like, well, an ass :-) Everything else looks correct. One of the Agile historians here will clear it up, I'm sure...

Re: So this happened (new car content)

My old car was a 2003 Rav4. The engine was still good at 170k but the car was falling to pieces around it. Oh yeah, that's Toyota's in a nutshell. The engine never dies if you keep feeding it new oil. My son drives a 2005 Corolla that has 230,000 miles on it. Engine just purrs along, body may come ...

Nice new wheels! And I know what you mean about that feeling of "do I deserve a new car?" - I've been fighting the car buying bug lately...I keep telling myself interest rates are too high, cars cost too much, blah blah blah. I'm still driving my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. And its fine...she does...

Re: A very Satch-like tune

Some tasty playing there! I really liked the different tones you used... started out with a fuzz (I believe) tone, then to a more amp pushed breakup tone, then to something that sounded maybe more like the neck pickup? Anyway, I thought it was cool :-)
