Sounds great! Haven't listened to your stuff in a while, but I love the tone you're getting here! It's aggressive sounding but the mix is easy on the ears, if that makes any sense.

Re: 5 position hyper switch seymour duncan

Very intriguing! I use 5 way Super Switches or Mega Switches or whatever switches on my HH guitars whenever possible. I love getting the outer-inner coil combinations and being able to switch with the switch mid songs easily without pulling on a pot. The Hyper Switch intrigues me, but probably not e...

Re: Some Expensive Boxes Just Showed Up

I know you all are dying to know that I had to upgrade my rack. Went from a normal 4U SKB rack to a Shallow 6U SKB rack so I could add an IEM transmitter. I recently joined an original band and needed my own IEM system. The cover band I've played in for 7 years supplies the IEMs. The patch bay I hav...

Re: Favorite Beer poll

Outside the West Coast, gotta go with Three Floyd's Zombie Dust, out of Munster, Indiana. Quite possibly one of the best IPA's ever made. I stopped there on a business trip. I love their death metal branding style. Probably the main reason whenever I order one. Niche target marketing at its finest!

Re: Favorite Beer poll

I like a bunch of Lakefront's beer: Riverwest, Bierzeit, and Oktoberfest come to mind. New Glarus' Spotted Cow is a cliche favorite but I really dig their Totally Naked as it's the closest thing to a real German Helles that I've tried. Going to Germany and drinking beer from Bavarian region spoiled ...

Can't say i ever saw one like this before. Either it's a real bad translation website or like i said Artificial Intelligence bots are scouring the web, trying to make sense/putting things together and it's coming out really fuk'd up. Maybe they would make more sense by reading textbooks than trying...

Re: Help my incompetent hiney! (Wiring issues)

I used flux AND sanded the backs of the pots. I redid everything I could re-do and.... 20221021_153406.jpg ...IT'S WORKING!!!!!! OK the tone still acts like a second volume, but I don't use it anyway. Glad that it's working! If the tone sounds like a second volume knob, my guess is that you fried t...

Nope, didn't know about the popcorn diet but
I got an email yesterday telling how to poach eggs in an air fryer. :D
I've "hard boiled" eggs in my air fryer before. Learned that one through TikTok.

Re: Help my incompetent hiney! (Wiring issues)

When you say that the volume pot does "nothing" does that mean you have sound from the pickups but can't roll it back, or does it mean that you can't get any sound? I had sound, but the pot did not raise or lower it. I reflowed the solder, double checked connections and tried again. Now t...

Re: Popping popcorn in an air fryer????

Line bottom of basket with aluminium foil (to keep kernels from falling thru the holes.) Doesn't this defeat the mechanism of an Air Fryer? Isn't it just a convection oven? I live by myself and use my air fryer at least once a week. I'm pretty sure the flow of hot air is the point. I could be wrong...

Re: PSA: Rare bird on eBay - AL-2500 GT triple P90

Still sitting at $115 this morning. What's the deal with these auctions, does the price typically climb steeply near the end? I've actually never bid in an eBay auction, too much anxiety. I'm the type of person who is grateful when there's a buy now button, even if I've got to pay a little more. It...

Re: Portable Modelers. Waddya got?

I'm a fan of Fractal gear. I take my AX8 to the open jam I run sound at and sometimes to rehearsals when I'm too lazy to take my Axe FX III rig. I'm currently on the waitlist for the FM9, though the FM3 can be plenty power for a lot of people. I'm moreso turned off by the only 3 footswitches thing.

I have a friend who drove to another state to buy one from a shop a couple months ago. Apparently that shop in Illinois bought up a handful before they went away. This friend hosts the open jam that I run sound for. The guitar sounds great running through my Fractal AX8, though I wouldn't say it's a...

Very cool, since the amp is going on it, you'll want some decent wood and make sure the joints are glued or at least VERY snug to prevent rattling.

Re: well, if lauramarie can reappear, so can I.

Welcome back, Pesky! As others said, forum-wise, it's been a little sad with losses and a slower rate of posts. The biggest change for me has been an increase in guitar buying, but that was a positive trend towards this value to start with, so is that really a change? I do owe a couple NGD and NAD p...

Can I ask what kind of gigs you're playing? What do you do for power amplification/speakers? [/quote] We either play venues with good FOH or we have a production company provide sound/lights. We don't play too many bar show anymore, just enough to keep us from being too rusty. Mainly, we play local...

I recently traded my Axe FX II XL+ for a Mesa Dual Rectifier Roadster amp. I hadn't been using my Axe FX II since I have an Axe FX III and have been trying to sell it to get the money for an FM9 when I get my chance on the waitlist. When I got a trade offer for the Roadster amp, my first response wa...

Re: Opinion: The death of the amp

I am pretty sure new tube amps outsold modelers by a good margin in 2021, and tube amps have very long lives vs electronics which die or become outdated much quicker. So, there will continue to be more tube amps in circulation than modelers for quite a while. The product life cycle of electronics i...

Re: Opinion: The death of the amp

What always happens is one guy cannot hear his vocals or amp or whatever so he turns it up. Often what really needs to happen is everything else needs to come down. Essentially the amp should only be a monitor on stage. Let the PA do the heavy lifting. Completely agree. We mic every amp even if we ...
