Re: New Project SX

So I'm pretty much done with the SX I recently bought. The frets are filed down and it plays as smooth as butta. Aside from the new pick guard and cream knobs, etc. I put in a set of cream GFS Neodymium Single Pickup - True Vintage Sparkle Kwikplug pups. They are noiseless, and I love them. I really...

Re: GFS Tele Guitars

Gear isn't my hangup for fly fishing. I quit playing headstock years ago. Same with fly fishing gear. But, I have a hangup on tying materials. I can easily spend 3 - 4 hundred on that. I usually find some really good deals on hen capes and partridge skins. That's where most of my money goes.

Re: GFS Tele Guitars

Thanks for the info. Pretty sure I'm gonna buy one, just have to see how much money I have left over after going to the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo in a couple of weeks.

GFS Tele Guitars

Looking at these. Anyone have one? Wondering how the neck profile is on them. Personally I prefer a slim neck. Just bought an SX. I like the guitar, but the neck is a little chunkier than I like.

New Project SX

Just got this today. The pickups actually are not bad, not gonna change them now. I need to file the fret ends down and get the action lowered a little bit, no biggie. I just ordered a new pickguard and knobs for it from Aliexpress. Only 16 bucks. It will probably take a couple of weeks for that to ...

Re: Les Trem questions

Definitely gonna take the B7 and Vibramate off my AL- 3000 Neckthru. It adds way too much weight and I love the feel of the Les Trem over the B7/Vibramate. I like the longer arm on the Les Trem II than the GFS unit. I've purchased a boatload of stuff from GFS, pups, etc. Just a personal preferance. ...

Re: Les Trem questions

I bought 2 more Les Trems. I love the Bigsbys I have that are screwed to the tops of the guitars I have. Those mounted to Vibramates, not so much. I have 2 B7s in boxes that I'm gonna sell. I have another Bigsby on an Agile AL-3000M Neckthru, mounted on another Vibramate. Haven't played that one in ...

Re: Les Trem questions

As it turns out, I bought 3 Les Trems. The first was a no name. It cost $50 plus shipping, so a little over $60 with tax through Aliexpress. Ships from China. I also bought 2 Duesenberg Les Trems also through Aliexpress for $60 each. Total with shipping and tax was $140. These came without the box. ...

Upgrade to Epi '56 Gold Top - Les Trem knockoff

So I've had my GT since '08. I have done a boatload of upgrades since getting it. My latest upgrade is a Les Trem knock off. I bought a Vibramate, B7 and Vibramate String Spoiler for the guitar. Shocker, it didn't fit right! The B7 stuck out 1/8" too long. So, I tried it on my '82 Gibson Custom...

Re: Les Trem questions

Thanks for all your input. I decided to try the Guyker Les Trem. $52.50 and only $8.50 shipping. It's a Duesenberg Les Trem knock off. I found a few Duesenberg Les Trem IIs for $95 and up, $22.50 shipping. If it wasn't for the shipping cost, which I think is highway robbery, I would probably go with...

Re: Les Trem questions

Thanks, I'm leaning toward the Les Trem II. I had a Stetsbar on my Gibson Les Paul Custom CSB. I wound up selling it. It was just WAY to sensitive for my taste. I like the feel of a Bigsby, hoping the II is similar. Does your case close with the Les Trem II on, or do your have to take the bar off?

Les Trem questions

Thinking of putting this on a couple of AL-2000s. There are a few to choose from. Knock off (Guyker) and Duesenberg II and Goldo. Does anyone here have any experience with any of those mentioned above. The Guyker is the cheapest, then the Goldo then the II.

Thanks for your help.

Re: FOLAME guitars - Scam???

Yeah, like I said in my question, even the name sounds like a scam. Probably just wanting to get CC info to rip you off. I wasn't t planning on buying, just couldn't believe it when it came up on my phone. If it's too good to be true, it usually is. Thanks for confirmation.

FOLAME guitars - Scam???

So, if it's too god to be true, it usually is. Red flags are going up, but I thought I would run it up the flag pole here. Has anyone tried to buy a guitar from FOLAME? Even the name sounds like a scam. They are selling guitars for $20, with case and free shipping. I don't see how they can do it! Ma...

Bigsby B7 on an AL-3000M

This is one of my favorite ALs, I have 5 ALs, 3 of them have Bigsbys on them. I haven't played this one much simply because I just don't like to play a guitar without some kind of a trem. This one is definitely gonna start getting some love. I used a Vibratmate to mount it, and added a Vibramate Str...

NGD - Epi '61 SG with Maestro

Well, not actually. I got it in December after a 6 month wait. First pic is of my G-400 and '61 SG. SG is on the right. The rest are of my SG. I have to say that Epiphone has upped the quality of their guitars considerably since my last purchase. That was quite a few years ago b4 I started buying Ag...

Re: CSB Fade

Do you remember when a batch of Agile csb's came out with flame that looked wide like tiger stripes? Those sure where beauties IMO. I got one, not quite the full tiger stripes on my rootbeer AL-2000. https://i.postimg.cc/zvf94X8b/csb.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/GtZqzc21/csb2.jpg image sharing sites

Re: Agile $$$$

Yeah, glad I got my Agiles when I did. I think my 2000s were 2 bills. My custom 3000M was 5 bills, with a thru neck. I'm pretty much set on guitars, pedals and amps. Actually, I'd put my Agile 3000M up against my Gibson Custom LP any day. My 3000M is my go to guitar. Since getting into fly fishing, ...
