Re: New Toy en-route!!! :D

I was looking at one of those back in 2021, but bought a '19 Mustang GT instead, which is now my wife's daily driver. The problem in my area is its always bumper-to-bumper traffic or you run upon someone excessively slow. I understand the slow since they probably have one of those insurance monitori...

Re: Electric Vehicles

The batteries in EVs are like the cartridges in a home printer. When you need new ink cartridges it is cheaper to buy a new printer. if the manufacturers actually cared about EVs being properly renewable, they would make the batteries easily replaceable (the whole point the the "skateboard&quo...

Re: Partscaster SX CAR Hawk HHH completed

I love what you did with that one. I love HB sized P90s and can imagine that the 2 and 4 positions must sound pretty sweet with your build. Well, how do you feel about P90 sized HB's??? These are a T.V.Jones Classic & Classic Plus. :D Harm01.JPG I've never tried any of those, though they should...

Re: Much Belated NGD - LP Standard

What a cool guitar! HNbelatedGD What are you running it through? I'm just an at-home player, so I've been primarily playing through a Kemper>mixer>monitors. I've also been playing through a Mesa Subway Rocket Reverb since I put my pedal board back together. I need to play more often, but just too m...

Much Belated NGD - LP Standard

As the title suggests, this isn't that new to me, but is my latest new guitar. I got it back in June as an anniversary gift and have really enjoyed it. It's a '21 Les Paul Standard 50s in Iced Tea burst. This is my first Gibson with the 50s neck and I believe I prefer it to the thinner 60s style nec...

Re: About that trem

You should be able to float any strat bridge. If you want the plate parallel to the body, you'll most likely need to shim the neck, but I've never met a bridge that I couldn't float. Most of the time, floating strat bridges have the tail end up, like the Jeff Beck Strat. The guy in the video below d...

Nice! I bought a red one for my son several (maybe 10) years ago and he never played it. I found that 11s worked really well and kept it reasonably in tune. I still have it and think I may play a little guitar tonight.

Re: Upgrade to Epi '56 Gold Top - Les Trem knockoff

I bought a B7 and vibramate for a Gretsch a few years ago and ended up using it with my Gibson goldtop because it wouldn't fit the Gretsch. I ended up using the Les Trem for the Gretsch and really like the way it works.

Re: What is your end game in buying guitars?

Years ago, it used to be fairly easy to trade or sell guitars, but the trade game went away ~ 2018 and selling has been a nightmare. My endgame came when I simply did not have enough room for more. I'm happy with what I have, but I do get a bit of GAS here and there.

Re: Gretsch 5622T - $100 Price Increase?!?

I'm late to the thread, but the G5622Ts have been selling for that price for years. You can find deals at places like Adorama, but the regular retail has been around that price for quite a while. when you were looking last, it may have been a low point in the pricing. My G5620T was $899 in 2014 and ...

Re: NGD: Jag-u-wah

Looks great! It's good to see you get the locking vibrato on the MIM. I'd prefer humbuckers (or anything, really) over Jaguar single-coils. It's odd that the switch is missing. I doubt that's the way it came from the factory. It was probably a phase switch. That is the way a Cobain Jag came from th...

Re: Mustang madness

I have a Fender Pawn Shop Mustang Special. I just checked the prices and they are $1500 for a good example. Many of my guitars seem to be going for crazy prices, but I think I'm going to hold on to them. Some of the guitars that I thought would be more expensive due to rarity have only increased mod...

Re: Son's First Concert (as a spectator) Next Week

Well, almost two months later and I'm back. Getting into the concert was an ordeal in itself. The venue required a negative covid test for unvaccinated folks (my 12 year old) and we didn't get his result by the time we had to leave for the concert. We went ahead anyway and fortunately, they had a qu...

For me, It's the Fender Meteora - For no particular reason, besides that I'm drawn to it. image.png The Meteora is pretty damn cool too. Son's First Concert (as a spectator) Next Week

We have tickets to Judas Priest/Saboton next week, which is my son's first concert. He and my wife are big Saboton fans, but I'm trying to convince them to stay for Priest. From what I can tell, they still have a Glenn Tipton cameo. Richie Faulkner has taken over in the guitar department and they ar...
