Re: Anyone here own a Firefly and a Gibson?

I have both but not the same or comparable model of both:

2 Gibson - LP and SG.
3 Firefly - Flying V, Explorer, and Jazzmaster styles.

I was really tempted by the G2655 at $219, but found reviews they have big neck dive. Also no mention of neck profile / thickness.

Re: Does anyone have any experience using Facebook to sell locally?

I post local on CL and FB marketplace with mixed results, all covered in the above posts.
I only meet at nearby public / store parking lots or the police station in my town has an area with cameras in their parking lot designated as a safe trade spot, in good daylight.

Re: Revv and Blake Wright guitars

I think the Blake Wright Guitars member on the old site was Horax. I had the TV yellow PRS style P90 double cut, it was called the Santa Fe. It was a decent guitar. I believe the sell price was around $200; I think I paid a total of $230 with shipping and tax. I ended up liking the P90 Liquid better...

Re: Whats your' latest gear acquisition?

I ordered this Squier 40th Anniv. Tele in Satin Mocha July 12 during Amazon Prime Days. When I ordered they were in stock, delivery date about 1 week. After I ordered it, I got a message they will email me when available to ship, probably early August. It finally showed up a full 8 weeks later. In t...

Re: TWO New Firefly Guitars Have Landed!

If I was still GASsing for P90 double cuts, I might bite on the the white one. I don't prefer the pots layout, and don't like they don't list much detail on specs - scale length, nut width and some neck profile description at least would be helpful. But I do like it overall. https://guitarsgarden.co...

Re: Can you play guitar when you´re sad (or mad)?

Normally, playing takes my mind off whatever the issue. Sometimes if I am really down about something - usually only due to conflict at home - I just don't feel like doing ANYTHING, guitar or otherwise. It just saps all motivation. I guess that is a sign of depression, but it has never lasted more t...

Re: Whats on your work bench?

Took a chance on an unbranded Tele neck on Reverb. Paid a little more than the typical ones on ebay because the seller got back to me with the thickness measurements. The nut shelf was a little uneven and cleaned up well with some file work. Fretwork wasn't bad but now great after leveling. Problem,...

HNGD!
I had the same one in righty.
Of the 3 SX guitars I had, this the best in overall quality. Great guitar in general. Same short comings you stated, typical for the price point.
I miss it sometimes but had to let it go as a herd management decision.

Re: Best budget single coil

I have 4 sets of Bootstrap pickups. Very happy with them. I am not a single coil expert (or any expert for that matter) and have never played any real Fender (for example) pickups to compare them to. 2 strat sets, 1 tele, 1 Jazzmaster. The wait time is around 5 weeks. I just got a set of strat Sun C...

Re: Whats your' latest gear acquisition?

First partscaster build: Tele Got it playable late yesterday, played it a bit. First impressions are very good. Still dialing in the set up. Balances well with a rough strap; little bit of neck dive without. I'm gonna guess 7 - 7.5lbs. The tuners are Fender 2-pin staggered type; so far don't I don't...

Re: Whats on your work bench?

Been through a few budget level Teles, haven't found the "right" one. Squiers have been 9+lbs, with very slim neck profiles; just doesn't work for me. NickintheStates - NIck posted his Tele build recently, with a body from ebay seller nomoonlaser. I was shopping from several sources, got o...

Re: NGD: Squier Classic Vibe 60's Jazzmaster

HNGD! I dig offsets but have only had a few. I had a Squier VM JAG that was a really nice guitar, but I just didn't bond with it. I have a Firefly JM style that with some work and upgrades is now really good playing and sounding guitar. Basic, 2 JM pickups, Wilk strat style trem, and 3-way switch. N...
