Re: Every one is far too nice to each other around here.....
I could start a thread declaring SS amps suck or that Gibson guitars are at least 40% better than (pick an import), but I won't. I will say, since my falling out with Rondo over the custom order debacle, I have found it difficult at times to be civil when someone posts glowing reviews of Agiles or ...

Re: Noiseless single coils
Most all true single coils are going to pick up noise. Try finding the source of the noise. Also, some single coils have the start winding on the outside, others have the start winding on the inside, could make a difference, i never did the experiment. It's less about the noise, and more about &quo...

Re: Noiseless single coils
Well, at $88US a pickup (plus exchange, plus shipping, etc.) the Wildes are out.
I wondered as well about the Guitar Madness Artec Giovanni noiseless models. They probably won't totally suck.

1) Check the volume pot. A drop from 500k to 250 should help.
2) long cables eat up high end. Especially cheap long cables.

I can fake it with my HX Stomp. And I almost faked it with my 11 Rack.
But yeah, this seems to be "the" product at NAMM that has a lot of people excited.

Re: Noiseless single coils
Have you considered rail pickups ? Single coil format but essentially mini humbuckers. I might be converting my Strat clone soon if I indeed get another single coil Strat down the line I don't want the rails -- I am really aiming at the single coil sound, but without the hum. The Ibanez pickups don...

Re: Synsonics Terminator Noodle
You're getting a nice tone out of that. Oddly, I am not nostalgic for my first guitar. I would play one if I had the opportunity, but don't want to own one. I go through my little nostalgia periods and I tend to pick up old gear. I need to find a Peavey Rage, a Marshall Govnor', a RadioShak reverb ...

Noiseless single coils
Total flier question nere: anyone know of any good, inexpensive noiseless single coils? Pondering the idea for my RG560. If I add a Tone Zone to it, I kind of want to improve the other pickups as well.

They should follow the model used by Long and Mcquade here in Canada: they are the Canadian distributors for many of the brands they sell. Also, they are a real estate company: they generally own the buildings their stores are in, and lease the rest of the space. And most of their people are long-t...

Re: Rollin Hand-less
Not definitively, but reasonably sure it's a triangular fibrocartilage complex sprain or tear. Since the swelling hasn't gone down much, my money's on a tear. That said, it still could be something else, but the TFCC checks all the boxes Probably did it doing push-ups. Once the doc puts me in the qu...

Re: Rollin Hand-less
An update: had an MRI yesterday, but aside from that, the swelling has gone down a titch, possibly even a smidgen, for the first time in a month. I am still unable to play, so I am thinking if there was ever a time to purge, this is it: no playing something and falling back in love with it. Still mu...

Given my current physical situation (MRI tomorrow!), I need another guitar, as my father would say, "like a man needs two heads!"
Yet still I look. GAS is so much more than giving my wife the Dutch Oven. It's a way of being.

There are also a lot of vids with brass pins. Worth checking out, even if you don't end up going that route.andrewsrea wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 11:20 amThat was a great video! I might be in the market for a Harley Benton acoustic guitar now. That sounded great with the bone pins.

I just got an old Ibanez RG560.
Today I saw Ibanez is putting out an RG460. With shark tooth inlays.
And I want it.
GAS is real, folks.

An update: talked to the doctor in Christmas Eve, and he says the is tracking less like gout, and more like a triangular fibrocartilege complex injury, which could need surgery. I will be getting an MRI at some point.
Still can't play. Grumble.
