Re: Earlier speaker break-up = low efficiency?

https://wgsusa.com/g10c#reviews Less efficient, reviews look good for that style amp. This one also, less efficient, getting good reviews too. https://wgsusa.com/vet10#reviews Still not sure if lower efficiency = earlier break-up. Very intriguing speakers. I am doing some research. Not to be a snob...

Don't paint it. While it's apart, carefully scrape the excess paint out ot the pocket so the neck heel sits flat, there.

Re: Gibson Theodore

Oh, mercy... I haven't been here in a while and am just seeing this. Fuller's Guitar in Houston, TX has a set of 3 in all 3 colors for $22,500. Someone needs to jump on that, 'cause they won't last long. I'd say Gibson lost their mind on this one. It was a previously unproduced design from 1957 and ...

I'd consider one at those prices if it quality is there and the feature set suits me. A good guitar costs what it costs. The value proposition is up to the buyer, as always.

Re: Speaker Selection for a Frontman 15R/25R Conversion

Consider the Jensen MOD series speakers. They're relatively low cost. Pay attention to the description of the tone for each one. A given size will be available with different power ratings, but they're not just scaled versions of the same speaker. They have different tonal qualities.

Re: Squier 40th anniversary line...

It looks like a revival of Fender's Big Block series from 2008: Big Block Stratocaster and Big Block Telecaster. Large block fretboard inlay, mirror pickguard, black plastic, and black finish. The Strat had an Enforcer humbucker at the bridge. The Tele had a neck-style pickup in the middle position ...

Scares me.
That's absolutely normal. It's a REAL auction, compared to eBay or similar. You bid, you win, they charge it to your CC. There's no opportunity for buyer's (and especially I-bid-too-high) remorse.

Great amp and the tones on tap are phenomenal. I've been playing it for a couple of weeks now and with pedals you can literally play just about anything through this amp well. Kendrick does some nice things in this amp: using nos original speaker cones from the original supplier to Fender, offset p...

What everyone else has said. Plus... It's got an effects loop. The Send and Return jacks are probably shorting jacks that conduct signal when there's nothing plugged into the loop. If the jacks don't short properly, no signal passes. Squirt a small amount of contact cleaner into each one and plug/un...

$1399 for a Kirk Cobain model ? Why not get a MIM without the fluff ? The Player Series is about $750 here. I might, but they don't make that one lefty. Yeah...I know the feeling. My 2012 Super Champ X2 FSR in rough blonde. I bought it as a new, demo from Sweetwater. I added the 'cake' knobs to complete the look. Glass is NOS Philips USA 12AT7WA and Tung-Sol 6V6-GTA biased to the hot side. The speaker is a well broken-in Weber Signature 10AS. That Weber is inefficient, so I c...

I don't remember if the volume pot is linear or audio taper. Which ever one it is, put in the other taper to make it more usable. There are mo' better mods for this. Google is your friend for how to mod and improve the amp.

Yeah, loud, clean, and classic Fenderish when clean.

A Weber Signature 10 will bring out the best in that thing. Ceramic mag to preserve the bark it has, alnico to compress more if you play it loud. The plain cone to warm the tone, the S cone if you want it brighter. Pay attention to the dimensions and be sure it will fit in the amp: it should. Caveat...

That's pretty much the majority opinion. As a functional vibrato tailpiece it's worse than any other kind, at least the ones I've played with. Fortunately, they mostly used the Maestro-style Gibson Vibrola which was primitive, but functional. It was basically a curved leaf spring and the long versio...

Sounds cool. Bill Alston's Web site has lots of Fender MIJ info for identifying what the guitar actually is. Sounds like an ST-62, but you'll need to pull the neck off and lift the pickguard to look at marks, pickups, and figure out what *kind* of ST-62 it is. https://www.alston-family.co.uk/MIJ%20...
