Agile AD3200 MCC appreciation
I don't recall all the details that went into getting the current evolution of the AD3200mcc into production, but I do remember it being a personal project from some of you all lovely folks. I picked up the plain top tobacco burst model over the holidays. It was a little different in terms of neck p...

Re: 2009 SX Calisto Joy
I do dig the old sx guitars. I had one of the old gg1 goldtops for a long time. I sometimes wish I still had it. It had a great thick sound, but it was a tank, and the early ones had a body shape with the lower bout just a little too wide to fit in a LP case. The neck profile was really nice though...

PS: I admit that I'd have a hard time if I had to choose between an AD3200 and an AL3200 of that same finish, though... Thanks, i...

Re: AD-3200MCC Graphtech Bridge question
Here a few required pics. I love that DC! I can see why you want it tip-top! Thanks, it really is a great guitar. It still amazes me at the level that comes out of the Korean plant, and with all the high end hardware to boot. I even like the pickups that are in it. I may take your approach and go b...

Re: AD-3200MCC Graphtech Bridge question
andrewsrea, thanks for the detailed response. I think nuts and bridges are a required skill if you're going to mess around with budget guitars. I have fitted and slotted quite a few bridges and nuts, and I'm glad to see that your methods and processes are about the same. That tells me that i'm on th...

Re: AD-3200MCC Graphtech Bridge question
Don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the guitar. It was perfectly fine, right out of the case. Honestly, it's maybe one of the nicest stock guitars I've had. It is right there with my PRS Zach Myers quality wise, and I'm pretty sure they both came from the same place. At this p...

AD-3200MCC Graphtech Bridge question
Hey guys, it's been a bit since I've been on, but this is always my go to spot for good information. I just picked up an AD-3200MCC and have a couple of questions. This is my first experience with Graphtech really. I have a PRS with a graphite nut, but haven't needed to mess with it. This guitar cam...

Re: Thinking about selling an early Agile Les Paul
I still have a pair of these early Agile lp types. I picked them both up years ago just because they popped up locally. I doubt they would fetch more than a comparable Epi LP. I hang onto them, not because they are better than any other Korean guitars, but because I really like the narrower neck pro...

Re: Signature guitars.
I figure most are for the money grab, but i tip my hat to those that put out a mid range version of the signature guitars. These seem to be done mostly to get a guitar out that is specified the way they like it, and those are my fav. Zach Myers, Bernie Marsden, Hartley Peavey Signature series.

Re: Agile Guitars in The Wild...
I'm not really sure how rare these are. I remember seeing the agile strats, but not in quite a while. This one popped up locally and I think it still has the original strings. I'm not really a strat with buckers guy, but how can you not pick it up for 100 bucks. I will say the bridge on it is one of...

Re: Old headstock AL2500 DC
Nice score. I haven't had one of the dc models, but my old headstock 2500 had the stock buckers in it and they were the only thing i disliked about that guitar. They were 2 wire chrome covered ceramics I believe.

Re: Bought Another One
Congrats on a great score. My ZM model has been my fav guitar for a while now, it truly is amazing. I did swap pickups in mine for more vintage paf sound, but the stock buckers were actually really good, and I am using them in a different LP.

NGD - Mccarty Content
Been a little out of touch on the forum, a lot going on. I haven't picked up any new guitars in some time and have been hovering at a little over a dozen for a while. With all the bases covered, I have realized which ones I go to and which ones just don't get played. I'm starting the simplification ...

Re: Potentiometers
I use CTS, and often buy them from The Art of Tone (TAOT) online store. The guy there runs a small shop and I believe he orders directly from CTS, as he does offer his own TAOT stamped CTS variety, amongst other regular CTS tolerance options. Also offers good varieties of caps, knobs, wire, etc. Th...

Not terribly exciting I don't guess, but I've had a couple of issues lately and was wondering what my good AGF peeps had to say. I've used several different makers of pots in the past for new wiring, old repairs, and such. Some were no names from the parts bin, most were Alpha, CTS, or Bourns. After...

Re: NUGD - PRS SE 245
Congrats on a nice score. I've really fallen in love with a couple of these korean se guitars. I've got a couple of the hex tool sets, but honestly have not needed to adjust the truss rods. I think that those came stock with the same pickups as zack myers. They are pretty nece for a kind of hot paf ...

Re: Hangers
I have string swings all over the house and love them. I also have a few cheaper string swing knockoffs from ebay or somewhere. They work just as well, but the wood isn't quite as nice. As a side note, if you screw the string swing into a stud, it is rock solid. Typical stud spacing is 16" on c...

Re: Where is everyone ?
Hey guys. I still tune in every so often to see what's going on. Working from home a good bit, and some side work along with kids keeps me from checking in here as often. Been playing quite a bit actually. Some home time has been on cleaning out some clutter and purging some stuff. I'm looking at th...
