Re: Do you rely on a pedal or your amp for crunch? (TUBE AMPS - LIVE setting)

In answer to the question, "How do I achieve crunch from my tube amp in a live setting?" It depends on which amp I'm using. With something like my Peavey Classic 30 there's all the built in overdrive I need (and a master volume) to get the classic rock/blues tones I need without pedals at...

Re: Just Acquired A 2007 PRS SE ONE. Any Love For This Guitar Here?

I don't have a ONE but my CU22 Semi hollow SE is so nice playing, feeling, sounding and looking that I couldn't (wouldn't) consider getting rid of it. I did replace the electronics, other than the pups, and it made a luscious difference. Being an 07 yours is WMI? It's gorgeous! Yes, built by World ...

Re: I Think I’ve Turned Into a “Strat Guy”

Which one? I bought the Lincoln Brewster model. Dude,if I got another Strat, which is probable, just not soon, that'd probably be the one. Amazing specs on that guitar. How big is the neck (neck carve) on that thing? Like the EOB, Brewster had been playing a Clapton Strat before his signature model...

Re: I Think I’ve Turned Into a “Strat Guy”

I’ve been a Les Paul guy, a SuperStrat guy, a PRS guy, and I have good examples of each, but my current favorite is my MIM Ed O’Brien Strat. I thought I’d have to work around the fat neck, but I don’t even notice it now. I do notice that some of my other guitars have thin necks though. I’d worried ...

Played this one tonight and reached heights of guitar playing that I've never reached before. Very satisfying session! Of course, I reached a new level with my Strat last night. I am so blessed to own two top shelf guitars!

Re: Do stickers bother you?

I don't even notice what my guitar looks like when I'm playing. If has THE SOUND when I'm playing is all that matters. Only when I'm NOT playing does it matter. What's most important to you?

Re: String Gauge

I play nickel 9' s on my Fender and nickel 10's on my PRS. ROB Chapman has an amazing ear and he couldn't discern the difference blindfolded between 8's and 11's. I am no different.

Re: Even Les Paul's are not Les Paul's

When I replaced my electronic in my WMI PRS SE it made ALL the difference. I have no GAS for a core model as a result. This makes me a bit sad because I can afford a Core, I just don't see the point.

If you haven't tried the INCREDIBLE value Ampeg Reverberockets from the early 90's then you're missing out! I bought mine for $300, with an upgraded Celestion A type speaker, and it is amazing! I've never played a Fender amp that is this Fender-y...can I say that? And the higher gain channel is bea...

I think I'll always keep this one. It plays effortlessly and sounds great acoustically and plugged in. I play my Strat much more though because I just love that damn guitar! But this is a great change of pace for me occasionally.
