Re: Odd Rondo interaction

The 8+ string guitars are for a metal niche. There are not a lot of people buying them, but there are also not a lot of companies selling them, unlike cheap Chinese LP clones these days. When the Agile LP was at its peak, there were not many other options in the price range, and less if you wanted ...

Re: Odd Rondo interaction

I can't look at his listings. 9 string 10 string fanned frets etc. Sad the old days are gone of choosing between 7 models of LP's. $600 is too much for a a LP copy. I've bought studios for less than that. So very true 😢, but I still check his listings regularly. But while I am sad, I'm not mad. Kur...

Re: Odd Rondo interaction

It's getting weirder. Even though Kurt canceled my Rondo site order of the maple fretboard Hawk, he just now messaged me on Reverb that they only have that guitar with a maple fretboard. Seriously! I told him I'd take either, but it felt like he was messing with me after last week's maple board can...

Re: New GC direction

The higher end customer (I am thinking $1.5k to $4K) is looking at guitars on Sweetwater, picking out the specific wood grain and weight, and buying knowing that no one but the Sweetwater employees who inspected, photographed and setup the guitar have touched it. ... Maybe. I don't spend that kind ...

Re: New GC direction

There are probably other factors being considered too, though. For example, what do you think is the percentage of people who visit their local GC to try out and choose a starter guitar/bass and then go home and order their choice online? But I bet that doesn't happen as often for people seeking &qu...

Re: Khruangbin's Laura Lee uses an SX bass!

Yup! And I agree with her on the value! My bass on the right below is basically the same as hers stock without the neck pup cover, but I'm not really a fan of white guards on light colored basses, so I tend to change them to something darker. This harkens me back to the "glory days" of the AL XXXX and all the discussions about the different model numbers/etc. I have forgotten a lot - and that funky flat bodied one - and the neck through 3xxx ( non contoured ).. Yess, non-contoured 3000... IMGP0821.jpg IMGP0816.jpg IMGP0815.jpg...

Re: Amped UP !

I marvel at the things that are available today but I doubt I will ever be able to utilize the stuff. I am still amazed by an amp that has a drive channel and built in reverb. I fumble around with a Trio and a looper and never even got comfortable with it. My Boss Songwriter acoustic amp has a buil...

Re: End of an era, no more SX in US.

I'd bet a few of the models do go up in the used market, but maybe not all. If I had to bet, I'd say the Liquid appreciates, not so much the others as there are similar models from other sources that are equal or less in price... I agree on the Liquid, but I also believe that some other models migh...

You've said health is not an issue, but I like to take care not to cause early failure of my body. So, my answer is no. Simply because the human body is not designed to ingest burning gasses.

... I gotta say, this body finish is far nicer in the hands than on website. I've never ordered a CAR SX guitar before. I just realize this, as the finish is amazing. Not a flaw on it visible, anywhere. Real nice red, but what no Rondo pictures capture is the metallic fine-fleck paint finish. i had...

Re: Whats your' latest gear acquisition?

The callisto or the p90 hawk is a steal of a deal with decent 10w amp and crap bag, still havent threw in the leaner cd. It may be gooder than hell lol. The prices even in 2023 imo are cheap for the quality u get with sx callsitos. just wait 6 months they will be gone and most cheapo lps will go up...

I'd say based on your many SX similar guitars in pic #2 above you already know the answer. As an enabler in good standing I'd say there are no reasons to not buy the SE with the desire inlays. Hmmmm, you make a good point. I DO already have a Blue bird inlay guitar with trem. (Seriously, thank you....
